David Vizard - Which to prioritize - PORT FLOW or PORT VELOCITY?

You really just like being a troll don't you? this is exactly what you wanted a bunch of people riled up at you. You have zero intentions at an honest conversation, I use to think you where interested in figuring all this out, but obviously not.

David Vizard - Which to prioritize - PORT FLOW or PORT VELOCITY?

Apparently it's not his job to know, just to harass people when making reasonable choices for their builds and to show them how some car made x hp & e.t. with "smaller".

David Vizard - Which to prioritize - PORT FLOW or PORT VELOCITY?

True but nobody is arguing it is. Hysteric is strawmaning like we are.

David Vizard - Which to prioritize - PORT FLOW or PORT VELOCITY?

Shorter rods move away from TDC sooner than longer rods that dwell longer a TDC, so with longer rods there's little piston movement so overlap and velocity are generally starting off the intake charge, shorter rods the also has some piston movement to help early on the intake charge supposedly...

David Vizard - Which to prioritize - PORT FLOW or PORT VELOCITY?

It's to help to get you into the ballpark, it don't need to be 100% accurate, and it's probably far more accurate than any actual advice you would probably give, when people are coming up with a combination.

    So being an unhelpful dick.

David Vizard - Which to prioritize - PORT FLOW or PORT VELOCITY?

    1. This thread was in opposition of what DV was saying. 2. Your the one on here being super judgmental, not DV, telling everyone that they need to up their game and build engines like the 1%'er that do highly develop R&D for the perfect combo. Which I'm pretty sure your not living up to the...

Plus it's seem like gears and definitely stall is the last mod that people are generally willing to do and usually not by much especially for a mild applications.

Tell us about the amazing droplet size you were able to conjure up in you highly trick out engine? tell us how you engineered it to the nth degree? must be an amazing journey we all can learn from.

Heres a start on him PipeMax Creator Larry Meaux on Race Engine Head Porting Editor's note: "Larry Meaux has been quietly porting heads and building championship winning race engines for more than three decades. A long list of winning customers is testament to his porting and engine design...

Like 2-5 lol No your haven't, you think you have cause you strawman everyone's argument. You don't even know what I grasp, cause your not looking for honest discussions, you just look for threads to interject your strawman arguments. I was a child in the 70's

That chart looks like if from the Pipe Max software, and pretty sure most of the equation are too. Go ahead, check it out see if its up to your standards. Again I'm not making a case for these charts and equation, I'm not trying to prove them correct or not, wasn't the point of the thread.

That's one car, doesn't mean the results for that car is universal to every one else's car. It's interesting but you would need a few thousand more examples, to offset the last 65 years or so of racing and hot rodding.

410 LA small block will not rev past 6000

When you had it dyno’d did they say anything about performance at 6000 rpm + ?

410 LA small block will not rev past 6000

Use to assuming that 5252 rpm is at crossover, which it would of been if they use the same scale for both.

David Vizard - Which to prioritize - PORT FLOW or PORT VELOCITY?

If you look at most of the descriptions of each of these velocity FPS #'s most the list is fairly useable except vary top and bottom which is a huge difference in in port volume, and if your turning and decent size engine to even relativity moderate rpms your more than likely be higher up in the...

David Vizard - Which to prioritize - PORT FLOW or PORT VELOCITY?

Most of us aren't building Darin Morgan type engines. Generally it comes down to the head that's is the best compromise and is readily available to us. But still functional and for most they would have a hard time getting close to that level of port volume mismatch. Not saying velocity ain't...

Best cam for the street both power & sound

Most aren't running standard transmission. Your advice is tailored to your driving style, wants, needs. (which is fine but doesn't mean it's universal) You don't even think a well built 318 is satisfactory anyways, nevermind less than Ideal 318. Betting most hopping up a 318, are more in this...

David Vizard - Which to prioritize - PORT FLOW or PORT VELOCITY?

Yes I know. Ideally but obviously it ain't as sensitive as some make it out. People bring velocity a lot especially warn about too little velocity never really hear warnings about too much though (which is a thing), but those that warn seem to have no idea what the right velocity or csa or...

I was being sarcastic towards AJ book :) 318willrun's car is exactly what AJ says not to do or it will be a slug compared to stock, which obviously it isn't.

Best cam for the street both power & sound

Yes just watch how terrible a low cr 318 with factory stall and highway gears goes. With mild cam, 272/272, Lift .454/.454 110 IC 62*, mild porting, 4bbl and duals. Look at all the time spent under 3,000 rpm, felt like forever. (Sarcasm)

Doesn't stop you from using the same example of a car going faster with a smaller carb over and over and over etc.. again trying to make your point. No one is saying these videos are absolute proof of anything. But you don't like them cause they question you philosophy of strangling the hell out...

Yes, do you think he's that interested in this test? To spend a bunch of money, time and effort more than he already did. I doubt it but who knows maybe this is just the beginning and he's gonna do a 100's carbs on 100's of engines and thousands of dyno hours to get to the bottom of this...

    Mild 383 build

Proof ? If this was true a longer stroke engine of similar displacements would always produce a very noticeably higher lbs-ft per cid of similar level of an build of engine. If it did it would break the law of "energy cannot be created or destroyed" why some's belief in torque as some kind a...
