Forgot to mention that dyno numbers are a fact. Just watch the episode. 35- 40 Horsepower. That's substantial. Maybe not necessary in my case but still substantial. We carefully choose our parts, build our engines with utmost care and cost for performance, and a fan robs us. The numbers don't...

I'm going to really give it a thorough shakedown to see if it gets hotter than 195. Then I'll go from there. I'm glad I saved my shroud, just in case I go back to an engine driven fan. I'm with Rusty, on the fact I JUST DON'T like 195. I know it's probably ok, but........so close to TOO HOT...

Hey man....I prefer belt driven fans too, but it's a proven fact they eat a LOT of horsepower. See Enginemasters fan episode.

Yep. Anti collapse wire in there. Will get hot(190ish), just cruising around at around even at 45 MPH steadily. Head into town hit a bunch of stop lights, comes right down to 175-180' was told this is a classic sign of not enough capacity. I personally feel like the electric fan and shroud...

Anyone out there have any experience with Griffin Exact Fit radiators? Very pricey, but have to get this thing cooled down a bit. Currently running factory type rad with Derale 2600 CFM fan. Just don't like seeing 195 degrees driving down the highway. Cools down in traffic. Just a hair away...

    Water pump pulley?

I remember reading here, years ago that for maximum cooling, your W pump pulley should be smaller than your crank pulley. Sounds right to me so where can ya find a pulley under 6 1/2 inch diameter? Checked all the usual suspects and they're all 6.5 to 6.7.

    Hayden clutch 2765

rad is not stock. Thicker core. Not by much though. I'm stickin' with my flex a lite nylon. I ran it all last year, up to 6800 RPM. Has an 8000 RPM rating and cooled my 340 really well. I won't be revving this new stroker that high, and it fits perfect in relation to the shroud. I thought the...

    Hayden clutch 2765

Man. Gonna be reeeeal close. I got 3 1/8th from waterpump hub to rad. Might have to do a Felx-a-lite nylon. What do guys think about that fan clutch being around 3/8 of an inch from my rad? Kinda scary?

    Hayden clutch 2765

Anyone know the thickness of this unit. My Mopar perf assembly is a no-go. Need something about 3/4 inch shorter. Dang it! Brand spankin' new, too. Have to get it on the classifieds. Funny how stuff changes when don't expect it to.

    waterpump suggestions?

I should be OK then. Have the factory 340 radiator, shroud and a good clutch fan. The car ran cool as a cucumber with the 340, 509 cam and headers. Hoping for the best. Indy told me if it runs too hot, there's something wrong with the clearances,,,most likely. Hope everything's gonna be ok.

    waterpump suggestions?

No race pump. The car will see much more street duty than drags.

    waterpump suggestions?

Have a 500+ HP smallblock on the way. Need to order a waterpump and not quite sure which way to go. No electric for me. My builder suggested a "motorhome" pump, I'm thinking Mopar Perf 8 vane type. I need this thing to run as cool as possible, so any info would be a great help!
