Quick post, I am still alive! Just back from a 21 day South West trip with friends. Panhandle, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and back to Texas. I plan to run the Colt this coming weekend to get ready for the Tulsa race.

Pretty common on metal buildings. They roll it on before the put the metal sheeting on. It's only an inch or so thick. You can see it in this picture before I started in the interior walls.

Covering the insulation. It's the roll vinyl style. I don't want to poke holes in it.

I tried to buy this car when I was looking for my Colt. He wanted 60k then, it was out of my price range. But what a great Colt! What do you plan for it?

Still working on my shop. I use my Fathers Skil Saw. This was the label on the saw. Made in the USA. For service see "Tools Electric" on the Yellow Pages. How far we have fallen.

A huge loss in the dirt racing world.

If you search YouTube, there are quite a few Videos to listen to the man and small glimpse into his world. Very interesting person. I have been re-watching them today. Cool dude in my opinion. RIP Scott.

I know that car, well kinda. He missed as many gears as me. Now how much torque is he loosing with his exhaust system???

Grant I weighed a 340 crank here, 58 lbs., the crank in my engine now is 75 lbs. Need to tune the tamer better with the clutch stop.

I appreciate your thoughts. Like I said in another post that will be difficult to fit to the chassis, but not impossible. Maybe a winter project.

Yes I agree. I don't want to hurt the top end. It's going to be difficult to change the collectors, but more torque down low will help.

Yea, everyone is saying the same thing. Going to do some more testing after I build the clutch stop. Higher RPM I guess is coming. I wonder how I pulled that 1.9 60 foot (not that it was very good) out of my hat before. Must have been the clutch slip/RPM match and a few stars that aligned.

You are right! All day Sunday I had butterflies in the pit of my stomach. But when I got to the track that all went away. At 69 years old, its not easy going to the track. That is why I have an enclosed trailer, to give some shade and a place out of the weather. I can remember in my 20's I flat...

    1972 Dodge Colt

Yes that is what the experts tell me. I really can't put long tubes on it the way it is now. So the bung is in the collector on 1-2-3 and I installed the 90's to keep the exhaust off the brake and clutch master cylinders. The headers angle down and the car is so low in front there is not much...

I wish! It has been a 1.9 something one time, but that was just a blind squirrel finding a nut. The 60 last night was 2.0x something like that. My friend with his 3000 pound Valiant auto car cuts 1.7ish 60 foot times. This 2200 lbs. car should be doing 1.5 times.

Got to the track last night for T&T. First run was my best ever ET and right at my 87 MPH which seems to be the new norm. 8.241 which looks like a 12.9 converted to 1/4 mile numbers. 60 foot is still soft, I need to chop at least a half out of that. So that is my first 12 second run with a slant...

Just back at it for a bit. I want to thank @19DART66 for offering advice on the clutch tamer tuning. Now that the pedal is better, this might work. I take quite a beating over at /6.org about 5000 rpm clutch drops. You know, the ones I don't do. I have been under the rear suspension measuring...
