Kinda depends on if you need white letters, and what they need to say. If you don't need white letters out, there's LOTS of tires I would buy before t/a's. If you want white letters out, id buy mastercraft or cooper cobras over t/a's too.. Milestar and Hankook also make white letter tires. And...

Yep. Glasspack mufflers can blow out the glass packing. I had a pair of glasspacks so blown out that if you hit them with a wrench, they would ring like a bell. About 95% of uncorked. They got real old, real fast.

You could add a pair of bullet glasspacks as resonators. For a more elegant solution, Google helmholtz resonators for exhaust.
