    Tune up questions

Just a FYI. My Magnum is really close to the same build, and I run 18 degrees initial and 16 mechanical with ported vacuum adding 18 more. I would say it runs perfect.

Don't know what motor to swap in.

Uh huh. :D Air cleaner lid says Edelbrock but it’s a Holley 770 Street Avenger.

Don't know what motor to swap in.

Someone asked me why not a 340 in my dart. I told them I could get 3-4 good 5.9’s for the expense of the 340 these days.

How to Prevent Holley Carburetor Fuel Boiling

Had the same issues with an Edelbrock carb, I’m sure you know why. Added a return T’d right at the carb inlet and an inline restrictor orifice for the return that keeps the main line pressure around 6 pounds. When choosing the restrictor I used a gauge to show the main line pressure. No return...

Man, can I relate to that.

66 Barracuda going up for sale in PA. NOT MINE

Apparently drivable. Other than that I don’t have a clue. Hopefully she lists it here.

66 Barracuda going up for sale in PA. NOT MINE

Not mine, but a friend of the Wife. Facebook Offer up And maybe here if she takes the Wife’s advice. Getting rid of the car because she’s constantly dealing with “**sholes hitting her up everywhere she goes.” Sorry, this is all I know.

    Anyone see this yet?

Chrysler heirs making a deal to buy back the company. The implications could be interesting.

Are we getting more for our money??

I built my Dart bumper to bumper, literally bolt by bolt inside and out. We took it on a really long trip that was 17 hours one way. I was a little nervous about it at first, but then realized I knew every part of the car and if it came down to it I could fix or replace anything over a weekend...

    Asking for Opinions

You said everything has already been said. I replied with no one came out and said F-em yet. It was a joke.

    What? I didn’t see anyone else say F-em. :D

    Asking for Opinions

I got criticized for not having a 340 in my Dart. By a guy driving a minivan.:D

    Small Victories ... lol

It only really matters if they rub on the rubber dust covers of the cylinder.

    Which transmission.

Yea, I would say Dex is a good guess to not mix fluids. These TF type transmissions will run just fine on used french fry oil. :D
  15. TrailBeast

    Which transmission.

The new fluids are not necessary. Personally I run type F and have in every 904 or 727 as well as my 42rh. But you can run whatever makes you happy.

    Owner hoping for 50k?

At some point in the video they mentioned the motor was 70. That car is definitely a mid to late 70’s car. 74 I’m thinking.

    Owner hoping for 50k?

Aaaahahaha Yea, they say the owner would like to sell for 50k. Um, yea ok.

    Amp Meter issues

ALL power goes through those. The amp meter passes power from one to the other while reading the amps. It’s a common fault point. Some of us connect those together as you did and put a volt gauge in instead. A volt meter has to be connected to keyed power, unlike the amp gauge. Do a search for...

    mini starter??

I have seen some knock the nose of the starter off, but never seen the body get moved. On my trans there is a large stud that accommodates that larger hole in the starter body. I wonder if some used a regular bolt in that and that lets the starter move.?

    mini starter??

The one large hole and one smaller is the normal small block/Torque Flight starter. I’m running one on my 5.9/42rh even. Curious why it won’t fit yours.

    Non A-body mopar question

Shoot, one teenage burnout 50 years ago could put a diff on the die list decades later. As far as 7.25’s go, I did multiple 100 yard burnouts for 5 years behind a 318 and then 1 or 2 years with a bit over stock 5.9 Magnum and the 7.25 never blew up. (Yea I felt pretty lucky) I thought 7.25’s...

Maybe. My Brother in law was doing some upholstery and gave me some of the leftovers.

    Remember this car?

We picked this car up locally awhile back, running but barely. It ate its cam but the people kept driving it until the metal of the cam basically ground up the the entire motor. Well my bud Mike was replacing the perfectly fine lightly modded 318 in his 71 Dart with a 440 so had no use for the...

    Phoenix area mechanic recommendations

So here’s where I stand on it after carefully reviewing your posts and pictures. For one, I don’t have a shop or even a garage to put the car and apparent large load of parts. Also I don’t feel I want to deal with, or be responsible for an engine needing a blower, aftermarket fuel system and...

    Phoenix area mechanic recommendations

All clear now. Just so you know, I would pretty much have to have the car and related parts up here. But I will think about it. Do you know what’s keeping it from running? Oh, I went back to your sale post. “Some assembly required” lol. Yea, that would have to be up here.
