The shaft seems ok to me, there is a little bit of movement up and down. It was rebuilt before I drove it and the guy who rebuilt it said the shaft and bushings were good

Ditto on this!!! I speak from experience. I started "freshening up my 318, and end up with a 408 with aluminum heads..... Many many dollars later! It's a slippery slope, so stop, think about what you want and budget it and stick to it.

Mine did the same thing after I went to lower the front after aluminum heads, intake radiator and battery relocate. Lowered the driver's side and once I moved to the passenger and applied the same # of turns, that's how it looked. Had to add a few turns back to the driver's side

For those running the Fitech kit, Did you use the -8AN line supplied? If so 3/8" or 1/2" sending unit? The instructions show 3/8" but everything I've seen shows -8AN is equivalent to 1/2"

The crosswind uses the LA style housing. The late model magnum that's a straight up is about 3/4" narrower bolt to bolt than the LA style and won't work on that intake.
