Crap. I guess I need to buy a regulator because I'm getting ready to run the more expensive one on my 408.

Another thing that we haven't addressed is what about the make up of the fuel is causing it to evaporate out of the bowls. At least around here, it is made up of 10% ethanol. If I run the expensive premium with NO ethanol, the situation improves.

We just set the timing on a 340 today. It took 18 degrees initial, and 36 total. All in by 3k. Idle at 900.

The female threaded portion of the adapter is bigger and fits the temp sender and it screws into the smaller hole in the intake. It works.

Yep. Here's my Air Gap that I run a mechanical temp guage on and you can see the brass adapter still screwed in.

I wonder what the difference is between the Performer 1412 that you're running and the Thunder 1812 that I bought. At first glance, I don't see a difference?

I bought mine from GasTanks.com but it appears I may have over paid. The Spectra number for our tanks is CR11B. RockAuto sells it for $157, Tanks Inc has it for $150. Be sure to hold on to your old lock ring and throw the new one that comes with the tank in the trash.

I used this Lokar throttle cable on my 67 Dart with a 340. Took about twenty minutes to install.

I would think it would be much cheaper to tune the carb you have rather than buy a new one?!? BTW I'm running the 800cfm Thunder on my stroker. My builder/tuner really likes them.

I was taught that the check ball in a PCV valve was to prevent flame from reaching the combustible vapors in the crankcase in case of a back fire. Gases can flow out to the base of the carb, but if the carb spits back, the valve closes and no flame can reach the valve cover.

X2 The fact that newer lock rings are stamped out of thinner metal or not stamped correctly is a well documented problem. We chased a dripping sending unit for two weeks. Tried different gaskets, doubling up gaskets, sealer, etc Put the old lock ring on the new sender, no leaks! :mumum:

It keeps the tank from rattling and wearing on the bottom of your trunk. I glue mine in place just so it wouldn't slip when installing the tank. I also didn't paint my tank and it still looks good three years later.

The Edelbrock air cleaner's base is dimpled to go around their linkage and choke housing. You can always stick a K&N filter inside, that's what I did.

If you are replacing the sender, use the lock ring from your original sender. The new ones are thinner and don't seal up tight against the tank. Tried doubling up the gaskets, using sealer, etc. Put the original lock ring back on and it quit dripping. I lost a lot of gas trying to figure...

Subscribed. I bought a manual choke 800 cfm Edelbrock for my new 408 and this is one of the things that has been in the back of my mind. Summit sells several different manual choke kits and I have been wondering which to use?!?

We just had this conversation on my thread last week, and the consensus seemed to be the Air Gap would be better for a street driven car, and the M1 for a race car.

IBTL!! I have to sit and rev my Edelbrock for about a minute even WITH a choke!! My neighbors are pretty cool though.

I doubt it. Watch the video and he shows the air cleaner that is necessary near the end.

I didn't mean actual HP or torque increase, I meant is there a chance of sucking one side dry in a 1/4 mile run.

Okay, so I'm reading the instructions that came with carb and they mention an optional Dual Feed Fuel Line Kit for an additional $86. My question is, is this kit necessary and will I notice an increase in performance by running it or decrease by not running it?
