Thanks, The car is off the ground as I have been working on it for a few years and this was the first time I fired it up. I still have the breaks to deal with before it goes anywhere.

I do have a service manual for a 1964 so will look it up. I know there is a section on Power Steering.

I do seem to have a small leak there too. I will probably take it off and put new o rings in it too and then line it up.

Thanks, That does help. My concern is where the short cable joins to the linkage. there is a very large opening on the end of the cable going on to a small pin. I am wondering if there should be something on the pin for the cable to go on top of.

That sounds great, but being in Canada those books will cost me over $100.00 and I do have a 1964 service manual that was given to me and it works for most of the car. The steering column is one of the few things that changed.
