RIGID. McMaster-Carr is where I got all of mine. There is no slop in them.

1. Late timing will build heat much faster. 2. If your vacuum increases then your combustion is more efficient. 3. Late timing sends unburnt fuel out of the tailpipe.

Get it warm and let it heat soak a while, check the timing at idle. Pull a plug, lay it somewhere that will be grounded and crank the engine. Note the spark color and intensity. Also I have read a couple posts that you mentioned have adjusted the carburetor. Check that your idle mixture screws...

There was not a belt in every groove. I’m trying to get spaced back closer towards the block, I have one that is deep enough, but too big in diameter. And I have another single groove that is the right diameter, but is a belts width shy of being where I need it to be.
