    Valve spring compressor

I like it a lot. It works very well. You just have to keep the tool properly placed on the retainer and take note while you compress the spring. The spring /retainer does t always go directly straight down. It can catch the valve tip or the side of the valves little rough if your not careful...

    Valve spring compressor

Not home made, I forget where I pick this up from but I did notice it at Mancini racing. A little pricey if seldom used. Not a problem in this house... LOL

    Scissor lift anyone?

Like @68cuda408 , LOL, nice lift, I have a bend pak inside/outside of the garage. Works fine. EZ to use. Heavy as hell. Hard to move around. Great for brakes and other outside of the car work but not for exhaust, transmission work. I made some ramps for the car to drive up onto so the exhaust...

    Engine Run Stand

It is a little wider than it needs to be but I like it like this. Very solid when I push it around. This picture is not a finished shot. It is missing the cross brace at the front of the engine connecting the front wheels. The battery tray behind/below the bell housing and the fuel cell (red...

Stock 360 build - What carb?

I can’t tell you how valuable that gasket is. Ma MoPar used a thick gasket as stock on there carbs. The aftermarket gives you a paper thick gasket. There about 1/16 thick vs the stock thickness of about 1/3. Aluminum carbs heat up and boil away the fuel. Sometimes even running engines suffer...

Stock 360 build - What carb?

Yes on both accounts for the gasket though if your going to use the car in the cold, DONT block the heat crossover. It’ll take the car a long time to warm up and when it gets really cold (winter) the choke won’t warm up.

Stock 360 build - What carb?

I doubt that it is a manual choke if it is stock. To use an electric choke, you just need to run 1 wire and splice into a wire that is turned on & off by the key. The ground wire is supplied in the Edelbrock kit. I also think it comes with the positive wire, but how much there is I am not...

Stock 360 build - What carb?

There ya go! Option number two! And it has been a go to Holley carb for many years. Not a danm thing wrong with ether one. There are “other players” in the market. Just keep the cfm amount at 650 and down and it will be fine. Easy to tune. The carb will have good throttle response and deliver...

Stock 360 build - What carb?

Better?!?! LMAO! The reason I type the above is basically due to driver choice in carb style/manufacturer. The important thing is : 1: You select the right size carb for what your doing. And IMO, you nailed it at 600cfm’s. Been there done that many times. 2: There is nothing wrong with any...

WALL HANGERS FOR MY NEW SHOP

I like it. No imagination you say? I disagree. Want an idea for the tractor? Add zoomie headers. And behind me the zoomies, more tire tread. Just a long flat up and down. It will look like a tall tire behind the zoomies. Hey! Maybe, if your brave, you’ll can figure out a way for them to shoot...

Need tool recommendation for valve spring change with heads on (360)

DITTO THIS TOOL! Worth every penny. (For heads off the engine, yes I know the OP is on the engine) bolt said head to a plywood board and clamp down to the bench with big C clamps. Build a picture frame like boarder to raise the plywood up so it will clear the head bolts holding the head down...
