'67 Dart dash frame in a '67 Barracuda

What Alan says. Specifically, I don't think the Dart instrument panel has the big circular plug, since it doesn't have the multi-gauge. And it isn't just a matter of rewiring — the senders are different for gauges and for idiot lights, I believe, so you would have to swap those out, too. In...

    Dash cluster dilema.

Just a 68-69 Barracuda, really. BTW you can get it repaired and rechromed — it just costs big $$ and has a long turnaround time.

    67 Barracuda rear view mirror

I saw several of these at the Spring Fling swap meet. I'm not aware of anyone who restores them, or of any repros. The glass is tricky because of the day/night function. Maybe post a WTB ad.

    Door mirror or interior mirror?

I have the color code... but what color is this called???

My experience has been that using the original paint mix formulas doesn't really work with modern paint materials. You really have to match it to the factory paint chip card or an unfaded original panel.

67 BARRACUDA FB REAR SEAT HELP

I just went through reinstalling my seat and the adjustment of the hinges is pretty critical. Loosen the hinge-to-body bolts and see if that helps. I actually had to do an iterative process where I adjusted the hinge bolts, then adjusted the backrest bolts to even it up and make it lay flat...

    replacement seat belt bolt size

I would expect they are the same. I bought replacements from Seat Belt Planet and they used the original bolts. Legendary is probably higher quality.

1969 Dart - does the windlace go under the sill plate?

They just tuck under the sill plate an inch or so. I bought a set recently, I think from Detroit Muscle Technology.

    Seat tracks

Dealers used to use hardwood strips to raise the seat if a customer complained they were too low. So it doesn't require anything fancy. 1 x 2 strip of oak, drill two holes, paint black.... done. Oh, you might need longer bolts if you raise it more than an inch.

    Bench Seat support fixes

I would say you definitely have broken springs. I have a bench seat that was completely restored, and it is as stiff as Grandma's parlor sofa. It depresses maybe 1 inch when I sit on it. No way to fix it without stripping the upholstery. It's possibly you could buy another seat bottom and...

    Bench Seat support fixes

If it's too saggy on the driver side, it probably has broken springs. Can't really fix that without removing the upholstery. A good shop could do that and put it back on after the fix.

68 Barracuda fastback rear panel carpeting ???

Slightly off-topic: my black carpet kit came with the side panel carpet pieces, but I have no intention of using them, or the hinge cover pieces or the console piece. So if anyone wants them for the cost of shipping, hit me up. Marked with red boxes in the pic.

68 Dart Convertible Boot Cover question

What Bob said... you should be able to buy this stuff in rolls, too. It is often used for interior trimming along seat backs and cowls. I have a used boot cover but by the time I shipped it it would probably be cheaper for you to find the stuff new. Also, the welt is cracked on mine.

    Well, that added up quickly...

Hi Jim So, I assume you are no longer interested in the carpet I pulled out of my convertible? That's fine, my wife wants me to clean out the carport... Seriously, I think you made the right call — if you are going to the trouble of a full build, do it right.

Bucket seat location for 1967 barracuda fastback

Yeah, both seats are offset so the cushion hangs out 1/2" more on the door side than on the tunnel side. If you swapped them the adjuster level would probably hit the tunnel.

Bucket seat location for 1967 barracuda fastback

Hmm, I think both the driver seat and passenger seat are slightly offset — they don't work if you swap them (although one reason is that the adjustment lever is up again the tunnel where you can't reach it. But I'll go check...

Bucket seat location for 1967 barracuda fastback

If my carpet ever arrives I would take measurements and photos for you. But I don't want to take out the seats until I have the carpet — I want to keep it drivable.

    strange seat covers

Not sure those are even Barracuda seats. Might be swapped in from a Dart or Valiant?

Fellow rednecks: Anyone using their removed bench seat as "furniture" :D

I used the original black front bench w/armrest out of my 67 Barracuda as a couch in my apartment before I was married. I had to build a base for it to sit on, as it was too low to the floor, and also it was seriously overbalanced to the rear (since it wasn't bolted down). I used 2x4s as rails...

    1966/67 barracuda bucket seat interchangeability

Yeah, that. The loose seat back is kind of dubious used with shoulder belts. But you probably don't have shoulder belts in your 67 so you're good. I'd go with the 66 seats for the look and try to make them work with the 67-69 tracks.

    fold down seat

I can assure you that the early Barracudas are different. No point in looking at their parts. I would agree that you probably need to source the entire seat & hinge set-up.

For safety - original bench or switch to bucket?

I would think you could work out a practical shoulder belt anchor on a 4-door, somewhere on the B pillar. It might help if you looked at a 70s-era A-body sedan to see how they were attached. It is probably detailed in the factory service manual for any year 1970-76. I totally understand your...

    Rallye Dash restoration recommendations

Paint will never look like chrome. Period. A lot of people go to all kinds of trouble with the amp gauge but really, unless you're pulling 80 amps on your monster stereo, all you need to do is make sure that the connections are clean. Pull the bulkhead connector and really clean both sides. If...
