    Any new Ram Owners?

I understand a 3/4 will tow better but I won't be towing a camper every weekend, just an open car trailer with a 1600lb car 5-7 times a year. The code is only 5% -$200 which will only be about $2300-2500 off so the 3/4 tons will still be expensive unless I went with a work truck white model.

[Found!] ball and socket throttle connection

the cotter pin is just holding the accelerator pump rod. the throttle lever bracket won't rotate unless i pull the throttle blades too. The throttle lever bracket is not removable from the throttle shaft. I will have to rivet on another piece of metal for the kickdown arm. I could try and make...

    Any new Ram Owners?

I understand there are issues with every brand and it's never easy looking at reviews or forums because the people who go to those are usually people with issues. That's why i always like to ask on non truck forums to get a general take to hear both positive and negative reviews. Ram will be...

    Any new Ram Owners?

My dad had a 2007 Silverado 2500 with the 6.0 and had multiple transmission issues and he only towed with it a few times (open car trailer with lumber and a car here and there)

    Any new Ram Owners?

Well with GMC/Chevy's all I see now on forums and reviews is complaints of shift searching and other transmission problems and the well known lifter failure issue on v8s. Overall ratings on edmunds are worse for Chevy 1500 than Ram 1500. My last truck and again to be current truck after I...

[Found!] ball and socket throttle connection

Thanks but i ordered the lokar one to try out. I'd hate to risk my crimp coming off while going down the road or in a race. I need to see how easy it is or isn't going to be to shorten the housing

    Any new Ram Owners?

Yea who knows the truck was at the Ram dealer from Sept 19-present and they still haven't figured it out even after reaching out to FCA engineers. The problem only last a minute if it didn't cut out and the the idle would act normal. If the truck cut out it would start fine when you started it...

    Any new Ram Owners?

Long story short I have been looking into getting my first new truck, bought a 2022 Ram 1500 Warlock 5.7L in early September and started having issues at 400 total miles. The engine wouldn't idle on a cold start and would pop sputter and cut out. Dealer couldn't fix it, and the lemon law...

[Found!] ball and socket throttle connection

and the throttle lever won't come off easy so it would be difficult to reach to grind it off. There has to be an option that will work. Hopefully Lokar will get back to me answering my question

[Found!] ball and socket throttle connection

i understand how that one is! No problem. I tried looking online for one but could only find complete sets where the ball threads in. Not sure if i can pop the threaded ball out of these. I was really surprised McMaster Carr didn't have it, they usually have eveyrhting.

[Found!] ball and socket throttle connection

I have a bendix stromberg carb and the throttle lever has a 1/4" ball riveted to the throttle lever. Does anyone know where I can find the socket end to fit onto this ball for a throttle cable? Preferably one that has set screws to attach the end to a cable. Thanks Gene

    Slant Six Roadster Build

Thanks yall! Good news the roadster is running again! I bought a NOS Bendix Stromberg WW3 carb from @slantsixdan and got it running pretty well. I just need to get a brass tube so I can hook a hose up to the manifold vacuum port so i can set the mixture screws for best vacuum. Then it's on to...

    Slant Six Roadster Build

The throttle shaft was heavily worn as well and would have cause leaks on its own. If the shaft was decent I was going to add bushings to the base plate myself.

    Slant Six Roadster Build

So the Holley 2280 I rebuilt ended up having a worn throttle shaft and base which resulted in a very bad vacuum leak. I bought a NOS stromberg WW so once I get that I will start making the throttle cable and kick down bracket. My buddy who has the welder is expecting his first child tomorrow so...

    Holley 2280 throttle bushings

the intake is new and i checked the mounting surface with a straight edge, i mounted the intake and exhaust together using remflex gasket. also used remflex for mounting intakes to the head. I figured it wasnt the pcv as i didn't have any issues with this valve cover when i had the holley 1920...

    Holley 2280 throttle bushings

-I guess i could try plugging the PCV port on the carb. it is hooked up to an early valve cover with the ribs that doesn't have the modern PCV with the grommet. it has a bent tube of metal with a check ball inside. -Is there anything that can be done about the space around the throttle blades...

    Holley 2280 throttle bushings

I sprayed the throttle shaft ends with starting spray and SURPRISE they are the vacuum leak. The throttle shaft from a 318 Holley 2280 should be the same right?
