    Unported head quickness?

My '72 Valiant 4-door has a BONE STOCK 360 Magnum (except for a mild, Hughes cam, heavy-duty pushrods and valve springs; Crane roller rockers,) low-mileage engine out of a 1998 Durango, to which I added an AirGap-style Chinese intake manifold and a set of TTI headers ands a Vortech centrifugal...

    Slant 6 rocker arm metalurgy

Well, you're right; there's more than one way to skin a cat.... This slice the arm and re-weld just seems to me to be the easiest, at this point. We'll see...

    Slant 6 rocker arm metalurgy

I agree with all of that; there's a straight line (geometrically speaking) from the top to the bottom of those rockers that runs vertically, between the bushing boss on one side, and the flare-out for the adjusting screw, that could probably be cut with a band saw (if the rocker were held firmly...

    Slant 6 rocker arm metalurgy

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX I called them Thursday morning and they told me that they were out of the 1.6:1 rockers because they had run out of the type of rockers that they could modify for a 1.6:1 ratio. I don't know what those rockers were... but he said they had...

    Slant 6 rocker arm metalurgy

Is there any information available on what kind of metal makes up the main body of the rocker arms on a mechanical-lifter slant 6 engine? I need to know whether that main '6 rocker arm body is a type of steel that can be welded on, and how hard it is, in terms of its ability to be machined...

Thanks for the good info!!! We can wait; that's no problem.

    VFN Fiberglass quality

Has anybody here bought from these people (VFN) and if so, what was your experience with them? I need a flat, pin-on, fiberglass hood and was considering VFN, as AAR doesn't make one for my car ('64 Valiant.) Any info will be appreciated.:happy3:

    /6 904 help, please

Does anybody make an aftermarket flexplate (B & M, etc.) for a /6-to-904 hookup? Maybe a small-block flexplate would work???? Any information will be appreciated! Bill

Header flange to round pipe interface

Boy, that sounds like a lot of hands-on fabrication for a lazy guy.... A "craftsman" I am not; my idea was to buy a set of cheap headers, and cut the primary pipes off about 5" from the flange and weld-on some 90-degree bends and go from there.... But, I can't find any "cheap"...

Header flange to round pipe interface

"Headers by Ed"..... boy, there's a name out of the past!!! I remember his shop in Minnesota, back in the late sixties.... Didn't realize he was still around! That's probably the best idea, yet.... Thanks for it!!!

Header flange to round pipe interface

If this were for a Jr. Dragster, I might try that, but there are SIX of these little puppies, and I'm afraid at my age (71), I'd "die of natural causes" before I got the last one done... I thought that as long as slant 6's have been around (FIFTY YEARS???), and as much hot rodding as they...

Header flange to round pipe interface

The slant 6 header flanges have square holes in them to match the square holes in the head (intake and exhaust ports.) To build a set of headers from these flanges, what's the best method to change the shape of the primary 1 5/8" header pipes to square, to match the holes in the flanges...

    Fuel line?

Dorian, no problemo!!! You're probably 100-percent right; it probably WAS a sales pitch... and me, being too ignorant to check the NHRA pages, it worked!!! Oh well... RE: "verbal diarrhea" (Thanks; I never can spell that right), I seem to be terminally-afflicted with that, so don't let...

    Fuel line?

Bill said, "I asked him about how wise that was, in case of an accident, and he said two things that made up my mind for me: 1 He said that he'd witnessed race cars whose fuel cells had fallen OUT OF THE VEHICLE, and were being dragged around the race course (driver unaware) and they eventually...

    Fuel line?

Just for general information, I went to the Aeroquip site and looked at the fittings they use for their "Socketless" technology hose connections, and found them to be visually, at least, identical to the barbed fittings that I used to build my so-called "Push-On" hose system. Probably a...

    Fuel line?

SPEEDTHRILLS WROTE: "Is that circle track fuel line and connections similiar to the stuff used on late model fuel injected cars?" I don't know; I've never had the chance to get that close to a "late model car." I doubt it, but it could be; my car runs at 30 PSI.... I think the late model...

    Fuel line?

Well, I called GRT a few minutes ago, and all the guy could or would tell me was that Gates makes the half-inch hose he sells, and that the "push-on" fittings are the pertinent item; apparently, those push-on hose fittings will work well with ANY hose. I'm sure he meant any high-quality...

    Fuel line?

I needed a complete, new, half-inch fuel system for my A-Body. I am pathetically inept at configuring metal hose... just have NO talent nor patience for doing it. No joke (it's not EVEN funny...) My car is a '72 Valiant 4-door sedan street/strip car that needs half-inch fuel line, and a...

NorwayCuda, You quoted me, but I just wanted to make sure you weren't directing your comments to me, because I never mentioned J heads... just Magnum heads. I'm not advocating anything here; just wanted to point out the retainer/guide boss interference problem at lifts over .530" on MAGNUM...
