    68 Dart 4dr

NADA says the price range is $4300-$5800. The seller is below that, but if I buy it, then I would not have much money left in the event of an emergency.. By the way, I am on a fixed income, ergo social security. Anybody want to chip in and help an old guy? Just kidding.

    68 Dart 4dr

Have the chance to buy a really nice 68 Dart that shows on the window sticker that it was a Chrysler executive assigned vehicle. It has the 273 v-8, fact a/c, works, full power, auto, 32,000 miles, original paint, vinyl top, no rust anywhere. What would this car be worth, and is there really any...

    elephant ear templates

I loaned my original Direct Connection manual to someone who never returned it to me. And, no, I don't remember who it was. Someone who is using stock type mounts could easily make accurate templates as long as the water pump was not installed. Might be something you could sell to earn pocket...

    elephant ear templates

I used to use my old elephant ear mounts as a template for new ones as the old ones were getting corroded. Sold that car and I now have a new set from Jegs that I need to trim. If anyone has a set of tracings, or their engine is out of the car that they could trace them on paper and mail to me...

    Any 71 Dart GT Owners?

I have a 71 Dart GT that is registered as number 00063 on the 70/71 Dart GT registry. And yes it is almost impossible to find the rocker mouldings. My car is for sale now due to health issues. It just came out of the paint shop and has a new Legendary interior, factory a/c converted to R-134...

    New A-body! '71 Dart GT, EL5

Congratulations I spoke to Mike, the guy you got the car from. I also have a 71 GT, but mine is missing the rocker panel emblems, which are very rare and not made aftermarket. He would not sell them alone. Had to be on the car. My suggestion to you is to find either a vender who can...

    changing cam in car

The Chevy guy who left the lifters in was running a roller cam with the lifters that are the horizontal spring loaded link bars. Those raise themselves up far enough for the cam lobes to clear.

    440 problems

You could either have one of the plug wires on wrong, or you have lost a lobe on the cam during break in.

    Oil pressure concern

Did your engine builder run the engine on a test stand or dyno before it was delivered to you? If not, was it full of oil with the pump primed?? If not, what did you do before starting it up? Small block pump can suck air if the pump is not fully seated on the rear main cap. There is also a oil...

    Rod cap mix-up

Look at the side of the rod. You will see a chamfer that is there to provide clearance for any radius the crank may have. The locking tabs will be next to one another and facing the outside of the engine when you have that cap and rod chamfer matched up. This is the way the rod must be hung on...

small block 360 oiling problems- please help!!!!!

There is an oil gallery plug inside the engine near where the distributor drops in but faces towards the rear. If you have the engine on the stand out of the car, or if the tranny is out, you can access that plug through the exterior plug. With the manifold off, spin the pump and look for oil...

Troubleshooting my car! help make it run!

Have not been following lately. Did you ever change the pick-up coil in the distributor?? I know it was suggested. Do you have a ground strap to the firewall from the engine?? Heat increases resistance to the point that ignition components fail to operated correctly. Everything you say points...

    Old Crane cam numbers

You can call the Crane tech line and give them your number YC1707, that is its serial number. They can pull the book from their library with that series of numbers and tell you everything, plus send you a cam spec card. You did not mention what kind of engine it is from.

Sounds like the pickup coil in the distributor is bad. Especially when it gets "heat soak" after getting off the highway.

looking to Buy Duster,Dart or Demon

1971 black Dart steering wheel and GT emblems

I cannot post pics of the GT emblems as I don't have any. They are unique though and have a slightly curved mounting surface because they go on the lower rocker panels beneath the stainless trim strip. If someone has one, I would try to find someone to cast new ones, or maybe they could be done...

    71 Dart engine harness

Just took delivery of a 1971 Dart GT from California. Someone used epoxy to keep the firewall connectors from getting loose. This is an air conditioned car with a 318. Anybody got a good harness? It is the center plug that is the worst. The temp guage is not working so I started tracing the...

    Hello from Reno NV

Don't know how fast you go, but an engine builder named Russ Barfield who is still working inspite of being in his high 70's, had a Plymouth Valiant in 1963 with a slant six than ran 13.0 and over 112 mph. The six cylinder truck engines used a double roller timing set and shared the same chain...
