    Motor Mounts

I have been running solid motor mounts (Moroso solid biscuits) on my car for many many years, no issues. I do use a poly mount on the trans. Edit: The only issue I have had is I do have to check bolts (starter bolts specifically) and such once a year, to make sure they are still tight. The...

    Stroker Performance Review

Opinions....here are mine.... Carb: I'm not concerned about the size. I'm currently running low 10's with a home built "750" carb that started life as a 650dp (using a Proform main body). I do think the jetting needs looked at. Fuel system: Definitely upgrade it to at least 3/8 line & better...

    Dyno Vs.Drag Strip Testing

I use this web site instead. US Tracks « Air Density Online Its free, and you can look up your track...updates are pretty regular (every 15-20 min I think), plus you can look at historical data which is pretty neat. Pull up an old time slip, check the date and time and find out what the DA...

    Analyze My Timeslip

Car looks great! I've been watching you build that thing on this site for quite a few years, kudos. I run my drag radials at ~19 psi, I would suggest somewhere near that. Other than that, warm the tires and give it another go. :-)

    “Wiped Cam Reveal”

2008 I did a cam swap on my 360, put in a Comp XE295HL-10 (251/257 duration @0.05, 0.564 lift). It wiped it shortly after break in. I did everything right, not my first rodeo, just lost a lobe...and consequently, the entire engine due to metal shavings getting into everything. I built my...

Caltrac’s and high rpm doesn’t mix

Late to the party....comparing the 2 videos, 5k launch (in slow mo) is crushing the tire and making it unload the chassis, where as your 3500 launch is not. Have you tried meeting in the middle on the launch RPM (4250)....maybe 4250-4500 would still give you a decent light, and possibly not kill...

Roller Valve Spring vs FT Valve Spring

Roller cams need more seat pressure than solid flat tappets....they need more spring pressure overall to control the weight, but in this particular case more seat pressure at a minimum. Main thing with rollers is you don't want them to bounce...and they are quite heavy, which is why they need...

    Rough-idling 360, can't figure it out!

My D150 was having similar issues. After trouble shooting I started replacing parts........I replaced the distributor, carb, coil, ignition box, plugs, wires, fuel pump, fuel filter.....after all of that (and to my embarrassment) it was a vacuum leak that I had missed WAY back when I started...

Picture... Fully saddled up with new trailer

Nice set up! I really like those tilt trailers. If you think about it, now you have a good excuse to tell the wife that you need a Cummins.:D

    426 stroker dropped in scamp

Please tell me you are kidding. I have yet to meet anyone with a masters degree in any discipline that can't put together a grammatically coherent sentence.....oh yeah, and a "bachelor's in study of metals". This really has turned into a train wreck. Best of luck folks.

    Balancing a Scat cast crank

I can't see doing internal balancing with a cast crank...just doesn't seem cost effective. For what its worth, my Scat forged crank, forged Icon flat tops & Scat I-beams did not need any heavy metal for balancing.

    Oil pump pickup any sealant?

Should you, I don't know....did I........yes I did. I have always used a little Teflon tape on that connection.

    Head gasket question

My current motor has the pistons 5 thousands out of the hole, and I use the Felpro 1008....its snug (57cc Edelbrock heads), but everything seems to work OK. PV is also quite close, but works. Motor has been running for almost 2 years....so far, so good.

8.75 durability for big block street/ Strip

Thanks man.....THANKS.........You're making me nervous, lol (see times in sig). I'm also on a 275 radial, lol. I should probably sell my 8 3/4 while it is all in one piece. (not sarcasm, I really should sell it...I just hope it makes it to the end of the season).

8.75 durability for big block street/ Strip

That is right on the fringe, so better to go Dana to be safe. That said, my car has had and 8 3/4 under it for over 27 years. A few years back I had to get a new housing (the fabricated MO875 from Moser) because my Caltracs crushed the axle tubes, but besides that, I have used the same...

    Window regulator delete

I remember chatting with you at that event (you had the blue fastback Barracuda that was REALLY light weight, correct?)....2012, or 2010...I don't remember.

    Window regulator delete

Anyone know the weight of the window regulators by chance? Debating doing this to my car if the weight is substantial.
