    I converted a 67 273 to hydraulic. New cam, new lifters, new pushrods (custom length). Next go-round I'm going back to solid, though.

    He built it in 71-72, apparently. So that's kind of crazy. I wish he had a photo of the whole engine, though -- with that giant-*** pulley in front, it's hard to get a sense of what it looks like. Would it even fit under the hood?

    So, if they had been building an I-6 purely for performance, they could have gone with big bores, maybe OHC, heck, maybe 4 valves per cylinder. But then they'd need 7 main bearings, so the whole package would have been much longer, and taller, and if they had tried to keep the same heavy-duty...
