South Bend Clutch is going in the 68 383 that we are building...We figured that if I can't slip this clutch in my Dodge Cummins Diesel making around 1000 lbs of torque...there clutch should hold a 425 hp 383.
Rick
That is the way the Dodge Cummins trucks come..master..slave..I actually have a setup for a 6 speed Dodge Cummins setting in my garage..may try and use it on my son's 68 Dart 383 4 speed conversion..

I guess the sorry taste that I have for Center Force comes from what I was told by their tech staff and the experience that I have in my business. Centerforce tech line told me NOT to pull a trailer until after the 500 mile break in period. If I did pull a trailer and slipped the clutch the...
You wont get any better than a South Bend Clutch! Peter(owner) and I have been friends for a number of years.. I own a small hotrod diesel shop on the side and this is the only clutch that I offer.. Customer service is second to none.
There is a SBC just waiting to go into my son's 68 Dart...
OK...I need to vent. I work for a county government and we are looking at a VoIP solution to replace our rock solid Nortel PBX. Currently we are under contract with Verizon for service at the tune of $8000 per month.
The 2 solutions that we have looked at are Shoretel and Cisco. From what I...
Some of the alternative trannies may live behind a 318-360...but what would it do behind a slightly built 383?? It might go :pukel: :pukel: :pukel:
Need to piece this system together so that we can get the motor in the car. Got to get the right parts so things will fit in the 68 Dart...
We have a 73 Challenger sitting in our backyard with an 8 3/4 rearend under it. What would it take to put that under our 68 Dart??? Instead of buying another rearend we would rather use this one if possible even it we need to narrow it. We had thought about narrowing a rearend anyway to get...
Drop Paintshop101 an email @ [email protected]... This company knows what they are doing when it comes to Mopars. Check out their website and give them a call and talk to Steve and tell him Rick Harvey sent you..

Ok....here is one for ya to think about... Do we do the spring relocation?? We want to run the widest tire we can get under the stock fenders as we can. I have been told that you can take a set of stock 14" rallye wheels and have them enlarged to 15" and they can do the back spacing that you...
Just contacted Accurate LTD for a set of headers for 383 going in my son's 68 Dart. According to what they told me was that they build the headers so that you have socket access to spark plugs, header bolts and it does not capture the starter. What I was also told was that they build the...
According to engine builder...the anti freeze has some type of pentrating stuff in it what will some how get by the gaskets before they seal up. He has seen it happen where someone has gotten their motor in and all ready to start it...and for some reason run out of time and decided to call it a...
Straight 30 weight and straight water for the coolant. Local engine builder told me to use water for the first couple of hundred miles or so. This way the seals have a chance to set good. He said that the anti freeze will sometimes seep thru the gaskets...
Just a thought!

For the last couple of days I have been looking around Ebay @ 68 Darts. The cars that I have found are sporting the 340 motors. In the build on my son's 68 Dart I do have access to that 318 out of the Challenger but its not what "Dad" wants for a power plant. I know it sounds stupid that I would...
