Picked up some ARP studs for another build. Aluminum heads with La oiling. Anyone have experience with the stud and the restriction its use imposes on top end oiling. Thank you.

410 LA small block will not rev past 6000

Clarify 4speed 26” slicks. Pulling the small 244/244 cam from 5800-6209 dropped 2/10th’s.

410 LA small block will not rev past 6000

You’re 20* short on the camshaft duration. I ran a [email protected] solid in a 365 with 4.30 5400 max power. Now a 244/[email protected] with 3.91 max power 5800 revs to 6200 slower ET. Your valve “dwell” is too rapid. I was going to order a 268/278 for a 414 and was advised to spec 272/282 for 6700 rpm. Look up...

I'm glad you guys pointed the calibration out. As I was torqueing the heads on my 414 project they seemed to "tighten up" to fast from 65-95#.

Mopar voltage regulator for race car

The only Ignition "On" I have in the engine bay would be the + side of the coil. I was worried about voltage greater than 12.5. Is that possible?

The two wire box? where did you connect the + field wire. Thanks.

Mopar voltage regulator for race car

Needing help wiring a voltage regulator into a new (to me) race car. It has a two wire field alternator (70 dart model alternator). The car has a 7al2 and a MSD power grid controller with delay box. Don't want to FK the system.

    Quarter Mile Gear Selection

I think Rusty is right. I ran 355s, then 430s and settled on 391 though I’m running a 26 inch tire with a four speed, the 430 is blue through the power band way too fast. 391s are pulling like a freight train.

Hopefully the Mancini kit has the spacers in the kit too.

The pushrod looks like its rubbing the bore on the head?

ARP lubricant was used and the heads were torqued in three steps. Threads are clean too.

1008's on the way. 3.91:1 with a 2.47 (833) 1st is the best combination I've run so far. Had higher expectations for the latest SFT ect. ect. Thanks for the feedback.

I'll post up more pics. Conversation with ARP tech this morning, then the supervisor called me back. Supervisor stated: "if you have a fire ring that thick, .053, bring it up to torque, then back them off, 1/16 and bring torque back up. The fire ring needs to get crushed as much as possible...

Checked the ARP against the OEM. The ARP's are .300" shorter than OEM. I ran them up to 95ft# per the instructions.

I agree with you. I’m not convinced that the ARP bolts are working. They give inconsistent torque readings as their loading.

The set up is still running the vacuum advance if that helps.
