Wiped out all PM conversations by mistake

Glad it all worked out for you, and I never noticed that box to retrieve messages from trash. So its a win for both if us. Members helping each other is what makes this a great forum.

    Signal Lever Question

Does anyone know what year this signal/column is from? This is whats in my 70 Swinger, just wondering if its correct for my car or not.

    Overheating at idle

I was told in the early 1970's that a 340 A/C WP impeller had one less "blade" on it. I believe Caterpillar rads had alternate tube rows at a slight angle so that the air exiting from between two tubes in the first row, was directed at the sides of tubes in the next row. 2 row, 3 row, and 4 row...

    NGK spark plugs breaking.

Hi All: I seem to have a persistent problem with the plugs in my slant six 1974 Duster. The engine is all original and unmodified. As per recommendations on this forum, I've been running NGK ZFR-5N plugs, washers removed, gapped to .035 and torqued to 30 ftlbs. as per the FSM. I'm generally...

    Overheating at idle

Going to try a new radiator cap today as that's the cheapest easiest thing to do. If that doesn't work I do plan on trying to find a 7 blade fan. I'm not sure about the pulley swap just yet as they are super hard to find and the 1:1 ratio available from cvf is too small of a difference to...

    Guns, Dogs and Blades QnA

This was a FB reel I ran across. The capability of these animals is insane. Apologies to those who don't use FaceBook but I don't know how else to link to it. Edit...If you google "Malinois named Monkey" there is stuff on U-tube as well.

Lets hear your suggestions for a winch for a car trailer.

New cables, New battery, jumped the New battery with another good battery, to double available power...... (both indicating 12.6v.) and it still needed the additional 2500, powered by the jumper battery to get a 6500lb truck, oops,my mistake, a 2500lb car, up a I 1/2 foot high trailer. There is...

My guess is it is a soft incentive to go Gold. I sure didn't know the old ones were accessible until now and most probably don't. I like the additional message access so I don't have to manage the inbox and being able to put pics in PMs is handy. I just get lazy on my subscriptions from time...

    My Dart Swinger Project!

The sun would have caused the primer not to lay down, and orange peel bad, the pollen will be easier to sand out than rough primer.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

    High voltage Dart -67

It depends on how a lot of things were wired. The use of relays etc. OEM used 3 separate feeds to start the car. Feed #1 (IGN 1) feeds the coil during run conditions thru the ballast resister. Feed #2 (IGN 2)bypasses the ballast resister to feed full battery voltage to the coil Feed #3...

    72 Dart Swinger dash refurbish

New member here and am redoing the dash on the Dart. Got the vinyl overlays from Detroit Muscle and wanted to take the plastic gauge surround off to work on. Removed the six sheet metal screws and thought it would lift right out—guess again. Is it attached from the back? If so, how do you...

Cranks but won't start. Unplug ground at field spade on Alternator and it starts?

I reported voltage readings at coil in post #19. It appears I have a voltage drop issue and its 100 degrees in garage so haven't tracked it down yet.

    15x8 w/ 4.5” BS on front/good handling size?

With 15x8 rims with 4.5 backspacing at 245/50/15 tires I had not touching. It was close though. That's "stock" small bolt A-body rear width with stock axle flanges and drum brakes (just re-drilled bolt pattern). OE Leaf springs 100% stock location. The low profile tires without much budge or...

Cleaning up to move Beetle out, honestly i think it could use a new carb. I think its driveable, probably needs a couple good runs to clean out the cobwebs. Then back to the fun stuff. Beetle needs some electrical sorted out. Pretty much only a couple lights work

    TTi shorty headers v ministarter

I'm just offering this up as I took the advice of others on here when I built the avatar and it has worked well for these aspects of cranking. My battery is in the trunk. For the ground, I welded a nut to the right rear framerail directly below the battery. The 2/0 ground cable goes...
