These are the sliders from my '66. Compare them to what you've got. If you're handy with a grinder and welder, you should be able to make the floor pieces pretty easily. Just keep in mind they aren't the same height.

They're missing the bottom floor mount part of the slider brackets. The early A-body seat brackets are two-piece units and allow for greater adjustability.

Crisis averted. The headliner went back in just fine. I'm glad I checked the driver's side too. The bow on that side had popped out of the hole, so I pushed it up and in and we're back in business. These bow-style headliners are a pain in the ***.

I got one side repaired. It's not going anywhere now. The only problem is the bow moved upward way easier than it should have. I'm thinking the other side bent down too. I'll have to check on it.

That's the plan for today. Hopefully the headliner is salvageable.

No. The early Darts have a "tab" that's bent up to support the bottom of the bow in the photo I posted. the sides and bottom of that square cutout are slices then it's bent up to support the inserted bow. It's only sheet metal though, so one of mine bent back down, allowing the bow to sink...

Like 66fs noted, the flat surface on these cars' dash boards make it really easy to make any dash configuration you want. Mine's more of a race car, but I just used 1/8" aluminum and put the gauges and indicator lights where I wanted them.

Looks good! Now, I'd try using a toothpick or something similar to dab some paint on the bare spots to help blend it in.

Is the top of the dash blue? If so, I think a blue dash pad and steering wheel would improve the look.

Try using a heat gun.

Can you drill and tap it in place? It'd probably be a total pain in the ***, but possibly doable. Just raise or lower that part to where you can get a straight shot on it with a drill. Hell, if you mess it up, maybe a through bolt and nut on the backside would work.

If you can get get the broken piece out, I'd just cut the head off that bolt in the picture and use the washer along with a new bolt. Of course, you'd still want/need two thick paper gaskets and a small piece of rubber hose to mount the glass. Not the end of the world at all.

It may be the camera angle, but the gas pedal looks way low to me. It looks matted almost. Is that the way it is at rest?

I was asking how much of the bow channels did you trim prior to hanging the headliner in place? As in - how much of the bows did you leave exposed on the backside?

For those of you who have installed a bow-style headliner in one of these old Mopars, how much of the bow channel on the new headliner did you trim? In other words, how much of the bow do you leave hanging out before installing?

If you have a digital copy of the factory service manual, do a word search for "listing wires." It'll show the order.

If it's just rattle can primer, it should come off no problem with something relatively mild. Remember to post the results!

Is it only on the inside of the dash? Is the dash out of the car?

Rather than an acid etch, I'd use some type of adhesion promoter that's compatible with the topcoat you're using. Maybe scuff it with a red scotchbrite if you're worried about adhesion.
