You are missing O ring from what I can see.
I like to put some lubricant on it before I install it, silicone spray/ Vaseline to help it install easily.
He had a 65 Mustang and we used to cruise together all the time. He would play Nazareth and I would play Deep Purple. Both of us still have our cars! Mine is the one in my avatar! 3rd owner.
Glad I could help.
Year's ago when I was in my teens, my friend used to screw the lock tight so he could open the passenger door with just pressing the door handle. That's when I caught on.
The Carter carburetor in your pictures is not a spreadbore.
You should look for a Thermoquad carburetor, Q-jet or a Holley spreadbore. The secondaries are significantly bigger on a spreadbore.
Thanks for the information, he also wants to buy the crankshaft as it is a steel one. But I warned him that he would need to get it balanced for his assembly.
Yes I agree that it is a "junk" car, but I am harvesting lots of great parts off of it. It is helping others get their cars back together.
Not sure why you gave me the red X it is a "parts car "
The roof is in very nice shape!
Every time I look at it I find more.
From fasteners to trim pieces. It's been a good parts car. Hard to believe that it looked like a complete car before we dragged it out!
Sat for 45 years on a dirt floor.
$1000 cdn came with both NOS rear quarters in nice condition.
Already sold enough parts to pay for the car. Plus i got some for mine as well. And I still have the quarters.

The problem with southern Ontario is that they put lots of salt and brine on in the winter and it just eats the cars.
Thanks for all of the feedback, I will be working on some small...
Decided that it was time to put the car away as the weather is changing up here in Canada.
Interested in what you people do for your winter storage practices?
Sitting for 34 years, things need to come back and relax will take some time. Maybe add some transmission fluid to the oil and down the cylinders.
Just my opinion. I agree with Rusty.
My friend gave me some carburetors in a box, one happens to be a Holley 4777-1347. It is missing the rear metering block and I was wondering if I could use the 4776 block to make it work.
I can buy one off of Amazon that says it is for a 4776.
