I think that that part has been discontinued for some time and question if it can actually be purchased. Also note the website is not secure. If it is legit you should buy em up!
Should be the same for any A body leaf spring rear end. Try some WD-40 when pushing them on. B and E body use a bolt through the top with a metal sleeve inside the bushing. The bottom mount is the same on all. As far as I know. Can you post a picture of the offending mount?
The difference is a little more than a inch a side. With some careful measuring the correct backspacing on the wheels is all that is needed. Not saying he should buy that rear end, I think he should buy mine instead and save himself some trouble. :)
I've been using a 65 B body with custom backspaced wheels and perches moved in a half inch on both sides. Just switched to a A body. So far I liked the B better.
5" BS on a 7" rim. 5 1/4" would have centered it perfectly. But this is in my case. Would need to carefully measure to see what you would need. Think a 8" with 5 3/4" BS would work well too. This is with a 65 B body rear.
Spent a little more for special order, turned out great.
IMO the plain stock pinion snubber can't hurt and in case you did have some big axle wind-up at least it would be there to stop it instead of breaking something.
Yes built by a reputable local guru. I was told it was nothing to worry about but I don't like it. Might recheck adjustment on bands. Swapped from a built 318 to a mild 5.9 magnum.
