Is it okay to remove the k frame and torsion bars out and leave my car on jacks for a month or two prior to doing the new HDK swap? Will it warp the body by taking the structural bracing out?
i am looking into the PST K-frame replacement HDK Front end suspension upgrade kit. Has anyone on here installed this? If so, please give me the good the bad and the ugly.....
My plan was to install this kit in my 68’ barracuda. Looks pretty straight forward online BUT as everyone knows...
Thanks for the positive thoughts. I won’t lie, the paint job is definitely not perfect, however once I am done I will he slightly more experienced as far as paint and body.
I’m gettin there. By no means is this perfect. There will be light spots and runs but I’ll be okay with it knowing that I know what’s underneath it all.
The cars in the background are neighbors cars as well as my own. And yes this far I’ve been painting outside on the steeet. That may change soon. I may start painting inside my garage although very little room to do so.
I appreciate the advice and sentiments. I will keep this thread updated with the rest of the paint job. It’s slow going with two little kids however I am learning a lot as I try to perfect this process.
Is it perfect? No. Are here tiger stripes? Yes. Did bugs get in it because I painted outside? Yes.
BUT I tried my best. My first time painting. I took my time. I think it came out okay. Maybe ten footer....
Update on first panel painted. Hood has been sanded at 220, 320 epoxy primered rattle can, wet sanded 400 then Rust-Oleum blues two coats, then 3 coats of rattle can 2k clear coat. Thoughts everyone? Should I continue with the rest of the car?
I’m sure many of you as stated in the above comments are rolling around in your graves because you have many years of experience in auto body work and therefore know the “right way of doing the job”. I am going to have to learn the hard way gents. I’ll still let you know how things turn out...
