They were classified as a 780 if they had the rear metering blocks. But yeah, same carburetor. This one is a 750, though, I do believe.

Don't run it lean and it'll last longer than you think.

    What hose is this?

Hot air hose or heat riser hose. It ducts warm air to the air cleaner for quicker warm ups. THere is also a temperature/vacuum actuated trap door in your air cleaner snout that appears not to have a vacuum hose attached, so that whole system is essentially useless anyway.

    What Engine Is This?

Perfectly. I knew it soon as I saw the casting date. Don't know why it's so hard for others to grasp.
  15. RustyRatRod

    What Engine Is This?

    It's not. It's a 66 date casting for the 67 model year.

The little 318 & Racer Brown's quality products

Well, the reason piston pins are offset is to reduce piston noise. It does that by putting the piston in an ever so slight BIND which holds the piston tighter in the direction of thrust. So it's only common sense that if you free that bind up by reversing the stock piston, you'll lose that...

The little 318 & Racer Brown's quality products

I think that's a lofty goal......but life is full of lofty goals that get met everyday. It's certainly not impossible. Without dyno numbers, you never know what an engine might do. Keep us posted.

273 Style Rocker Arm Adjusting Screw

No. None of the aftermarket replacement parts are interference fit. The only interference fit is from the hole in the factory rocker arm. When you replace the factory adjusters with aftermarket adjusters and lok nuts, you cut the interference fit out of the rockers with a tap the same size as...

    Gladys Gets LED Dash Lights

For that very reason, the only LEDs are in the two cluster illumination sockets and nowhere else. All the other four only got the 168 incandescent bulbs, which is a step up from the 194 that was there. The 168 has a little more wattage and is a little brighter.

The little 318 & Racer Brown's quality products

People have done it for DECADES on the dirt tracks and shown there is a difference. I've seen it myself.....as have a LOT of people. Yet let one show of "experts" come along and say it doesn't work and suddenly everyone's an expert. Did you ever get it dynoed?

340 Cold Valve Lash Unknown Cam

.022 and .024 is not too loose. It's right about the middle. I disagree. I think tight lashing can cause damage if lobes are not designed for it. I'd consider .028-.032 loose.

    Gladys Gets LED Dash Lights

I know it's not Mopar, but I've been doing a few projects on Gladys the last couple of days. Welded up some holes in her doors where some geniuses over time bolted on the WAY WRONG mirrors. Then I removed and cleaned the cluster and replaced all the bulbs. It calls for 194 but the 168 bulbs are...
