swapping from 7.25 to 8.75 the old shaft needs to be shorter i know, but I have an old shaft here that the length looks right but it is only 2.75 in diameter dont remember what it came out of but will it be strong enough?
car is bone stock now, came with 318 904 7.25 rearend, I have both, the 8.75 sbp 391 posi from a 70 duster and a 8.8 for 410 lsd at the welders getting shortened. the 8.75 has all new stuff, gears, bearings seals and brakes. paid $300 for it.
I got an 8.8 lsd exploder rear and have it at the welders getting cut and rewelded but found an a body 8.75 with 391 posi now not sure which I wanna run. Any input?
Somebodies gotta do it. I think I did ok for $60 391 sure grip complete rear end with leaf springs. I will be at the drag strip in reynolds ga. next weekend for the lx forums race night.
I think 500 is a fair price.
i have come across an 8.75 rear think its a b body not sure yet, pulled the axles and the chunk
I think its a posi, has springs in it also the ring gear has yhe numbers 360 10 did anyone ever make a gear set that used these. I have not actually counted them yet.
