    Front end alignment results

I saw on a posting discussing the Skosh Chart that the camber settings for Max.perf.street should be -.75 to -1.0 degrees similar for Track/auto-X, that should be -2.0 to -3.0 degrees A positive Camber with the top of the front tires outside the bottom of the front tires would be unusual.

    Front end alignment results

The 68 Barracuda has been an ongoing project since about 2016. Everything on the front and rear suspension has been replaced or rebuilt: new ball joints, C body tie rod ends, reinforced LCA, Moog problem solver bushings in the UCA’s, seam welded and reinforced K frame,,,

    Front end alignment results

Took the 68 Barracuda to a local shop for front end alignment. The shop, Grilliot Alignment in Darke County OH was highly recommended by every local car enthusiast that I spoke with. They have a tech that does all the classic cars and he was more than willing to listen to the alignment specs...

    Disconnect sway bar question

When measuring then setting ride height, I understand about loosening the pivot nuts, but what about disconnecting the front sway bay? And then on the actual alignment, should the front sway bar be loose or attached? Thanks

    EPAS Electric Power Steering install

Drove the 68 Barracuda out of the garage today, with Electric Power Steering! I used the kit from EPAS, I know that some folks are improvising units from salvage yards, but I was wanting an engineered solution for this install. I have used pull a part components many times, just not this time...

$35 Electric Power Steering with Fail-Safe - No eBay module and no caster issues!!!

And that is the issue with with doing a mod that is based on hacks applied to salvage yard parts. Tech support is limited. A couple of ideas 1) try sending a pm to the guy that started this post back in 2016 2) look around on line for a wiring diagram for a 2009 Prius and verify that the wiring...

Broken K frame bolt 74 Swinger

By being unsuccessful on drilling the broken bolt out, are you saying and is the photo showing a broken drill bit in the stuck bolt? if so that did make the fix a little tougher. Try to find a local mopar restoration shop. I am thinking the fix will be something like: 1) opening up the side of...

    Suspension Recommendations

I would get the car up on a lift and do a complete review of the existing front and rear suspension and underbody for: wear and corrosion. If you see items there that need attention that may impact your priority list. As far suspension improvements, new and better modern shocks can make a big...

    Leaking shock?

Years ago, in the 60’s that is when shocks got changed out, they started leaking at the piston seal. So there would be oil or dampness running down the lower tube. Todays shocks are much better for that.

loose bearing race - K/H disc hub

Maybe I gave him something to come back at me with. Let me say it this way 'when you wrestle with pigs, you get dirty, and the pig enjoys it' In our discussion only one of us chose to use foul language, name calling and a generally abusive tone. That points in the direction of who the pig is...

loose bearing race - K/H disc hub

It is interesting that some argue that Loctite 660 is not appropriate to use to hold a wheel bearing race in place because it will never hold up, and others argue that it is inappropriate to use as an unknowing person would never be able to get the race back out. Concerning the never being able...

Hey Old Man, where is your son’s functional engineering assessment of the Loctite 660 ? You seem very interested in selling parts and services that put money in your pocket and much less interested in solutions that do not. Maybe you should add that as the disclaimer to your posts.

One would simply heat the race with a propane torch to approximately 450 F the Loctite would begin to release and the race could be knocked out like normal. Obviously a person that knows nothing about Loctite.

OldmanMopar Mentioning this for your information and education Loctite is not “glue”. Each Loctite product has a heat saturation point at which it will melt and release. That is so the parts held together with Loctite can be disassembled. The Loctite 660 is made specifically to fix bearing...

    16:1 vs. 24:1 steering

The 68 Barracuda originally was a power steering car. When I got the car I bought a used Mopar manual 24:1 box, took it down and replaced everything internally except the screw and the caged rollers. The box worked ok, except that it had a dead-spot with a bit of play right in the center. Not...

    Tie rods differences swaps etc.

It has been several years ago when I rebuilt the front end on my 68 Barracuda and I used the C body tie rods. The car also has the 73 and up front disks and steering knuckles. The tapered ends of the tie rods are the same so the C body tie rod ends fit into the knuckles and center link. I used C...
