You're right, it definitely is being pretty hopeful. I don't think it'll get there if I'm being completely honest with myself & you. Since this engine was nicknamed "Weird Science" for all of the random old school stuff I did to it i have always said I'd honestly be happy with anything from 325...

WAIT. Stickers don't add horsepower? They lied to us, those dirty bastards.

Right, but then again a lot of brands never even used the offset on their stock engines. I'd say that was more due to cost savings than anything. Maybe the same could be said about aftermarket piston brands? We all know a lot of aftermarket brands are heavily influenced by Chevy. That could...

The little 318 & Racer Brown's quality products

Interesting, I had never asked the people I talked to what they thought it made for gains. One person did say he had a book that said a gain of 50 HP. Kinda always figured was an extremely generous stretch. Lol

Exactly my thought as well, had been done & sworn by for decades but the second Engine Masters said got done with their one dyno day... that nullified decades of people saying it works. That's why I don't like that show anymore and also testing should never be done with a closed mind like they had.

I had not yet, I went on a vacation to Sweden then got hammered with harvest season hours for work before I can get it there. Still plan to, I would like to see 400 HP out of it. Hopefully.

The little 318 & Racer Brown's quality products

I have actually considered getting a set of custom pistons made that would be made for racing but with the pin offset solely to see what it would do. Would I normally do that? Probably not unless that custom set proved something to me. I just figure I was lucky enough to get a shortblock that...

Yes, Uncle Tony gives a lot of stuff a bad reputation. Although DF and Dulcich have strayed a lot from their cheap ways by getting nice expensive parts, they started looking down on the cheap ways now.

I guess the way I view it is not necessarily as a HP advantage but more of a mechanical advantage. Making the rotating assembly a better process thus making it rev faster. Just the way I made sense of it when I drew factory pin location vs. flipped out on paper. Glad we could make a respectful...

It will be in a Duster. My thought process is having the hydraulic roller lifters primed so it's not hammering the valvetrain to death on the first start of the day.

The little 318 & Racer Brown's quality products

You aren't wrong, I haven't found concrete evidence either but I've talked to well over 50 Mopar people that have stated it made the engine run harder. Have even set aside my Mopar bias and talked with Pontiac guys as well because their pistons have the offset as well. They stated the same...

Yeah, you definitely could do that. But just having a toggle switch setup is more convenient

I am NOT believing one mediocre dyno test, that is not how research works. Even if it doesn't work, there is ZERO reason not to do it. Even if it doesn't make any gains, it's not hurting anything to have them flipped. If it does make gains then you got free power. 3 guys on a dyno with 1 engine...

    Custom 360 Cranks?

Completely valid question to ask. Doing a 1970 factory 360 block, 13.5:1 CR with a Racer Brown .738/.712 270-274 @ 50 & 107 LSA and the W9 heads/intake I bought from you a two years ago. The goal is 730 HP with no block fill.

    Custom 360 Cranks?

I'd say that's pretty much it lol, what brand is that? Winberg guy said that they think they won't be doing anymore Mopar products because not many people buy them. He said he had 340 product designs but no 360 stuff. He wasn't sure what 360 designs were like and I told him it's pretty much the...

    Custom 360 Cranks?

So I'm on the hunt to have a custom crankshaft made. Yes it's odd but it's a stock spec 360 crank but with 8 counterweights instead of the normal 6. Called Winberg and the guy on the phone basically said "good luck, that's a hard order and we are so far backed up." and waiting on a call back...

    [WANTED] Small block valve springs

Would anyone happen to have a set of used valve springs for small block heads that they are looking to let go for cheap? Putting a together farm truck 360 with 302 heads on top. Just need a set of used springs to pair with the Summit 6901 cam being used.

    The ever-so desireable 308 Heads

Okay so now that I'm finally past that car show and chaos. Back to the topic. Thanks to everyone for responding and apologies for the delay. That makes sense on the 308 heads, first pair I've ever had in my hands so I wasn't quite sure what they held for a value. I'm on board with doing aluminum...

    The ever-so desireable 308 Heads

My grandpa bought her brand new back in 1962, was a 361 3 on the tree car. Raced her many years in C/Super Stock and set track records her first time out. Brought my mom home from the hospital in it the day she was born. Started to restore it in the early 1990s but then grandchildren started...
