Help me buy an $80,000 car

bunched up janky headliner? that's an automatic fail on the DTM scale! all kidding aside, i'll echo what others have said upthread: the market is super hot right now, and it's a good looking car, but i don't think it rates 80K. especially not as bread and butter 318 car that's been upgraded...

440 build working with what I’ve got

Sell that cam, you don't have enough converter for it. That cam doesn't like to putter around on the street.

    Steering column seal, gasket, busing?

Looks like an early A that was column shift automatic and changed to cable floor shift. That opening would have been your column shift assembly. I would cut the column end so its even and get or make something like this used on newer columns.

    1971 Demon, FC7 Plum Crazy

Love those Demons. It's even cooler to find such a low option car. Sounds like steering wheel was option too. No rear arm rests is first time I've seen it. Good luck with the project.

    Pinging on acceleration.

Octane? I would poura higher octane race fuel in it and take it for a ride.

440 build working with what I’ve got

Its a 440 It will probably be a hand full in a light car with street tires. What do you plan on doing with it? Put your money you get into making it safe . Then dial the engine in .

    [WANTED] Air cleaner for a 1974 Swinger, 318 2bbl.

WHO'S GOT THE SCOOP ON RESIDUAL VALVES?

In the late sixties and early seventies Brake companies began using metal expanders on each end of the springs. The expanders pushed the rubber cups tightly to the wheel cylinder bore which made residual valves useless. It took a few years before, the residual valves were completely...

    Boise on fire

Yup! Pine and juniper as well, especially when it's dry and hot. And sagebrush stinks like no other when it burns too. Worse than burning cow ****. And if you get any of that sage smoke on your clothes... Hoo boy! People really avoid you, lol.

    [WANTED] Air cleaner for a 1974 Swinger, 318 2bbl.

That appears to be a 2-barrel air cleaner to which someone added a second snorkel. The diameter is too small for a factory four-barrel air cleaner, the lid looks like a two-barrel stamping, and the scale between the air cleaner body and snorkels is goofy. Here's an original four-barrel...

WHO'S GOT THE SCOOP ON RESIDUAL VALVES?

Wheel cyls came with springs..... The purpose of the RLPV was to keep the wheel cyl seals slightly pressurised. This reduced the travel that the wh cyl pistons would need to move, & kept the height higher & more constant. Many car makers started omitting the RLPVs because they really didn't do...

The ign coil is powered from the MSD box, not the ign sw. You can see that in post #3.

    Is/was there ever a 340 Magnum

For this group you'll need 2000 bottles. lol

New build A833 18 spline with Gear Vendors OD.

It's hard enough to fit the unit into the stock tunnel, further back with the long adapter; it would be impossible without tunnel mods, to install it off a short tail.

Help me buy an $80,000 car

No doubt! $20k is getting you a vin tag and some scrap metal. $40k is a sad fixer-upper. But, a quick search for '69 Darts shows $50k avg for a nicely restore 340 car. Glad I got my cars when I did.

    Is/was there ever a 340 Magnum

OK so, for the 64 dollar question, What makes a 340 Magnum, different from any other 4bbl 340

Fire destroyed Big 3 Racing shop

That's too bad. I know what it's like to lose things to a fire. About 20 years ago, my brother was cooking on the stove and fell asleep. (He had been doing 16 hour days) He got out with minor burns, but we lost a lot of N.O.S. Mopar parts in there. We lost a lot of memories like photo albums...
