Yes Marine Sta-Bil it is claimed by the rabid boaters. Premium NO alcohol gas. FI hose is way better than reg. rubber fuel hose, Costs more though! Car needs to warm the engine and exhaust thoroughly and drive it down a real (country) road!

...the gas level in there. As said before, choke closed more and it speeds up mans it wants a richer mixture. Coming behind any one can be a cluster**** that has "tied" to work on an old car. Like you just said, you can have issues with electrical inc. distributor. Thats another ball game...

Did you spray carb cleaner all around the engine while running to see if RPMs increased??

I had about a dozen sb and bb six pac cars decades ago, and I had a few carb fires myself, just didn't burn nothing down.. thankfully!!! Like said NOTHING inexpensive about those six pac setups!!!!! Nothing yesterday and probably less likely today!

If a guy has a real 71 340 car that needs this carb, they get expensive. Especially if a 71 Cuda.

Satin black is what I would use.

Get it on engine, and soak it overnite with a bottle or half bottle of Seal Foam. Yea it will smoke bad when started.

I have used both, always the winner is the Carter for me. But any"rebuilt" carb from the parts store is always a GAMBLE!!

Heck I have had tons of Mopars that the gas gauge NEVER worked. I just filed it up every so many days, as they were daily drivers!!!!

Correct carb cores for MW and hemis=some pretty stout $, other wise just another early B carb core.

I have had to weld an extension to the end of the filler neck on some models!!!!! I just did the 62 Dart other day, with ne rubber tank grommet I bet I pull it out and weld an extension to it after I get it running/driving!!!

Gas tanks are a pain in general!!
