    AFB Tuning

Add shooter nozzle volume and see if it gets better. In some applications I opened them up to the size of the tube originally feeding the shooter nozzle to cure a bog when you mash it. You need yo make sure there is enough fuel when the air door decides to open.

383 appearing, 400 stroker with stealth heads question.

My old 451" engine had a Performer and eventually a modified holley SD for induction. It had factory a-body exhaust manifolds, ported big valve 906's and a healthy hydraulic cam (.560ish w/1.6 ductile rockers). With my dyno headers and a Performer RPM intake the engine made 500hp/500tq. With...

Jeg's Reversible Extended Reach Cutoff Tool

What do you use something like that for? Usually if i can't get the 4.5 grinder in the space there isn't room to weld it either.

    Upper control arm advice

I don't see the need to go any farther than QA1 UCA's. I have them in my dart (and 3 b body cars) with no complaints. In a drag car you are typically focused on the following: -Suspension travel -Bump steer -Equal side to side caster sweep -a solid upper bump stop (used as a travel limiter in...

Lets hear your suggestions for a winch for a car trailer.

In my experience the cover just makes the corrosion worse by trapping moisture. That said I'm admittedly reactionary when it comes to winch preventative maintenance. I tend to forget about the winch on my truck until it is required to proceed. Bad habit!

Lets hear your suggestions for a winch for a car trailer.

I have Warn 9500lb winches on my trailers. One is a high speed model for urgent recoveries. I have seen the badlands brand winch have issues with planetary assembly when overloaded (i.e. usong it for more than it's rating). My last few trucks have SuperWinch brand winches and they have been...

My 68 is like that. The d/s can only be installed with the rear suspension at full extention.

I have QA1 uppers on several cars and have been happy with them.

Trouble Installing 18 spline A-833 through dual disc clutch assy.

Be advised that Quicktime bellshousings have issues. I would check the transmission register runout vs. crankshaft and make sure it is true to the block. The height of the clutch fork bracket is also incprrect. Lastly, keep and eye on the bell crank bracket. They are thin and tend to fold up...

    Quarter Mile Gear Selection

The last things you buy on a race car are the torque converter (power band dependent), shocks (ride height dependent) and gears . In my experience you can get pretty close to your intended powerband by providing factual information to an experienced cam grinder/engine builder.

    Quarter Mile Gear Selection

Just stopping here to wait for the "we don't race dyno's" crowd. The best way to know what gear you need is by doing math. In order to have accurate numbers for the equation you need to know where the engine makes peak hp and how well it carries the power band. I am thinking you will be close...

Massive caster variance Side to side

Strut rod tuning is needed at times to dial in the caster sweep. I have done hundreds of alignments with a tape measure and a caster/camber gauge (Longacre). We used to take them to the alignment rack and have them double checked to a while. The numbers were always good so we started skipping...

VIDS link added...Getting faster over here too finally.

I am happy to see you back in the saddle. What mph are we looking for in the 1/8? 125 is cooking, especially on an easy pass. Can you elaborate on the suspension changes? Nice to your hard work paying off!

PLEASE HELP IM IN DIRE STRAIGHTSNo spark MSD but test fine what am i missing!

Then the next troubleshooting step would be as mentioned by Denny is to run a temporary wire from the battery to the little red wire. If that does not solve your issue you likely have an issue in the distributor and it is not triggering the Box.

PLEASE HELP IM IN DIRE STRAIGHTSNo spark MSD but test fine what am i missing!

I am saying you need to get a test light or a voltmeter and verify that you have a start circuit and a run circuit and they are both tied to the little red wire that turns the MSD on. Typically the Run circuit is dark blue and start circuit is brown. You need to be firing the MSD while the...

PLEASE HELP IM IN DIRE STRAIGHTSNo spark MSD but test fine what am i missing!

You need to tie start qnd run circuits together with the small red wire. It sounds like what may be happening when the car intermittently starts is that it rolls over quick enough and catches the run circuit when the key pops back to that position. I have seen this happen many times with New...

New Challenger - deep discounts again

Let me know if you come down. The 300c belongs to my wife. She is very sentimental about her cars. Currently all bays are full at my place. I have two cars for sale and no interest so it might be this way for awhile. : /

New Challenger - deep discounts again

I have been tempted to pick up a kowalski-ish 6 speed with a V-8 for quite some time. I get cold feet when I think of our 48k mile '10 300c srt8 in the shed that sits unused. Ground clearance is often a factor in vehicle choice for us. The LX cars can get torn up on some of the parking lot...

    Brakes for my drag car.

I have used Baer, Wilwood and SSBC with good results. I like the Baer "remaster" master cylinder and it's accompanying proportioning valve the most. Naturally, this is the most expensive solution. Honestly, I set each on in the middle and didn't really feel the need to change the setting...

Machinist will not build engine unless roller cam is used!

With the hydraulic ft issues I am of the same opinion on tappet choice for a performance engine. If I had to go hydraulic ft it would come from Jones or Oregon Camshaft. For the last build we used bushed comp sportsman roller lifters with good results. I was interested in trying out the comp...

Anybody running these kind of Air Filters on a tunnelram

Screen can be a huge restriction. The area covered is more than you would think. I like to use a washable filter element. You want 1000cfm/carb to accomodate for maintenance intervals. What is center to center measurement of the carbs? 9.5ish?

    23 or 18 spline?

I would do an 18 spline unit for several reasons. The gears are of a coarser pitch and 2-3-4 speed gears are bushed. The input shaft diameter is larger by 3/16 also. I have better luck overbuilding things that get abused. It appears that you have sufficient tire plant to warrant the 18 spline...
