    65 valiant

I believe they do fit, there is a thread. I believe it takes a cut down steering column and grind on the drivers side manifold some. Maybe a few shims on engine mounts.

I have some magnum exhaust manifolds if you want them. They supposedly flow better than the stock manifolds.

Buying a 1966 383 with 906 heads to build for my 1967 Barracuda

My Question is will the 66 block and 906 heads And a 440 cam still give me the HP of the 383 magnum that I once had? And will it fit with headers because exhaust manifolds cost as much, if not more than to build a motor.

    67 Dart 273 swap to 383

**** the A/C, open your windwings, the little beer/weed hiding vent doors, and step on the fuckin gas! You will want to get yourself some of these too. I think @hemi71x has some for sale. https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/emblems-383-four-barrel-383-magnum-440-magnum.541348/ You may...

    Onservation about magnum 5.9

I did it! Magnum 380 crate in a 74 Road Runner 4 speed with power steering. I used the early truck manifolds and an Edelbrock Performer 750. The driver manifold "kisses" the power steering box, but does fit in a 73/74 b-body. Yes, I realize that I am not getting optimum performance from the...

360 Magnum Daily Driver (but fun too!!!)

I’ve heard, haven’t used them, that they are worse than a stock magnum casting.
  10. 33IMP

    M code barracuda

I think (think!) they were magnum motors, but were down-rated because of the terrible drivers side exhaust manifolds (the 440 manifolds are worth a fortune, cause they were thrown away for headers.) Edit: tree'd by Hemi Dart!

I don't recall the FABO member- but I traded an Offy dual quad for his Edelbrock Street Tunnel Ram

Just fyi the magnum and La heads have different bolt arrangement and manifolds do not interchange unless modified. The magnum bolts are vertical and the La head bolts are perpendicular to the intake face of the head. You can get around this with some drilling/tapping elongating holes etc.

Got a new Truck (new to me)

Totally agree, great score on George’s part! I’m all in for you getting the ‘93 truck. Magnum 360 in that 1993 truck will surprise you in a good way. Those have the larger outlet exhaust manifolds that work almost as well as headers. If you don’t have emissions regulators to work around...

Ho there, I have a 5.2 Magnum short Block that has been cleaned up and had new bearings and pistons installed. The cam is still stock and timing chain along with lifters but they have been cleaned up. Was going to use it for a project but went another direction. Does not include the timing...

Magnum manifolds on a 66 dart

I had magnum manifolds on my 66 Valiant before I went back to the slant. I shimmed the motor mounts about a 1/4" and it was Tight! I ended up using a u joint style coupler on the gearbox to gain some clearance.

    72 340 pass side manifold

possibly...but at what rpms? I'm thinking 'any' 318/340/360 manifold likely flows equally enough up to ~4000 rpm to be 'moot' from a performance standpoint, and I've also read they are likely better flowing in the higher rpms...but not by a lot, plus my engine won't be in the higher rpms enough...

    65 Barracuda daily driver

i never ran a oil filter adapter when i had my early abody with a 318 just used the small filter, and ran the stock manifolds for that year. Same with my 67 and 68 barracuda used the small oil filter with magnum manifolds on passenger side.

Ok old timers , i need your knowledge on this cam ! Direct connection camshaft

I was wondering if a 2500 Stall and 3.23 gears , magnum manifolds or cheap headers / 2.5 double exhaust could make it work....yes i.will cost me a very small amount of money and its a Nos unit still in box , but i dont want to trow 2k On the 318 either, slowly buying parts to duplicate my...

    273 or 225?

Early A’s use the same K member for v8 and slant. He just needs the motor mount brackets. If he goes aftermarket/Schumacher v8 mounts he won’t need the drop center link, as they raise the engine enough to clear the link. The v8 throttle bracket and the exhaust manifolds are all he really needs...

    Spark Plug Advice Needed

I am having a carbon problem on my intake and exhaust valves that I cleaned up last winter. It was quite thick on the intake and the exhaust indicating it was running very rich for years. It's all back together now and I'm trying to get it to burn cleaner. It's a 9.9:1 340 with magnum...

    273 or 225?

Or just run the 65 drivetrain as is since he will have it. Adjust the valves, set the points, adjust the timing, make sure the carb is good, and the vacuum advance is working.

    Magnum intake drilling plate project

Good idea with the weights on the intake I'll just throw a couple 45s on top and that should be good for me to drill the first few. I just got back from home depot I was actually able to find some brass or maybe copper threaded pipe in 1/8" size that is just small enough for a few threads to...

best hi flow ex manifold/drivers side

good info & actually I have one of the early large port magnum manifolds but it slightly touches the top of the steering box to where it will not seat flush to the head ex ports & I have already slotted the box mounting holes so I could lower the box (& a guy posted that this would affect bump...

Installing headers -- While engine pulled or after re-installed?

I hope this isn't too much of a digression, but my 67 Barracuda was bought new from Economy Chrysler Plymouth in Cornelia, Georgia (same county as Clarkesville). I'm guessing that dealer is long gone.

    Truck manifolds on Dart Sport?

I believe the truck manifolds exit in a different location than a car does, but the flow should still be fairly close. Either way, headers are a far better choice. If you want to use factory exhaust manifolds, I think the ones from a Magnum V8 flow much better. Maybe from a V8 equipped Jeep G.C.
