63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

agreed, cut it straight first and see what's under there. if doesn't ' need' to be cut out why do it. that bit can still be bolted down though. on my 68 i found the tunnel wasn't spot welded to the crossmember on the section to be cut out. almost like ma mopar knew we'd be cutting it out for a 4...

    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

How big of a cam are you willing to tolerate in a street car? Everyone has a different threshold. In my opinion, drive-ability should come first for a street car. As such, I always err on the smaller side when it comes to a cam and I've never been disappointed. It's always a give and take.

[WANTED] 69 big block valve covers stock

A-body? The A-body drivers side is different than the B-body and has guides for a spark plug wire because of the manifold outlet.

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

My plan is to cut straight, being careful not to cut the crossmember. Then tack the dogleg down to the floor pan. On the shifter side, I will leave the floor pan metal on top of the crossmember to strengthen it and also keep crud out. The factory did it that way, so it's good enough for me. :)

    12:05 Garage- ’70 Duster build

Here is the link to the post so others don't have to search for it like I did. 4-bar / back half the HemiDenny / HDK way Also here is the link to the original Butch Leal car that inspired it. It looks like it has a whole triangulated roll bar structure so I'm still leaning towards rectangle...

Slant 6 engine ignition timing stays retarded.

Turn distributor upside down so the drive pinion is pointing toward you. Notice how the distributor hold-down plate is held to the underside of the distributor body with a bolt. Notice how that bolt goes through a slot rather than a round hole. There you are. Also, if you're getting significant...

    Anti Freeze question

Maker's site is here, and they have a find-local-dealer page. Or you can just buy it where everything else comes from these days. The prep fluid is alcohol, so if you have a cheaper source of gallon jugs of alcohol, gopher it.

The gear is good. This Dart has only 65,000 miles on it. It was literally driven by a little old lady.

    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

Bigger cam definitely get you 450 + hp, the one you pick probably get you 450 hp maybe come up a little short especially if cr is a little wanting.

I'll look for that second slot though I can't imagine what it would look like. Can you be more specific? I've had this dist out many times in the last several months and don't remember seeing something like that.

    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

I almost started a poll to see how long got the “nitrous heads” to show up. 450 is a cakewalk and nitrous isn’t needed. Lol.

    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

Yup, that’s why I think I will be able to get there with this combo. Definitely am thinking about getting bigger cam than what I initially suggested, I think 750 Holley (whether that be a DP or street demon) carb with a couple of adjustments should be able to handle whatever cam I plan to throw...

Is the plastic driven gear on the bottom of the distributor worn out? Pretty common on /6s with a lot of miles on them.

    anyone see this Demon?

Don't have a pic, but it's a 71 Pro Street style. Huge ET Streets on the back, skinnies up front. Car is all yellow with a big cowl hood. Full cage, used to run in the low 9's. I heard it may be somewhere down south.

    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

First time building an engine, will probably get it dynoed at some point. I’m using very basic preliminaries (my butt dyno). It will be a very dramatic change to what I have now. Stock small valve J heads, ld340 intake, 670 street avenger, slightly bigger cam than stock.

Yes I must have this CAP. I have lots of emissions related parts in the engine compartment.
