    360 Questions.. pardon my ignorance.

The "osac" port on the carb IS the (ported) vac advance port.

    360 Questions.. pardon my ignorance.

Most trucks I've seen didn't have that osac thing. Mostly cars over about 2-3 years in the mid 70s. It was gray/black, sometimes on the air filter housing sometimes on the firewall and the VA line went from carb to it, then to the VA. Best thing to do if there is one would be to run a VAC line...

Might be the timing chain causing that bounce

Thinking about turbo on my/6 again...

I was just aggravated that with 0.100" between the block and head being shaved that I "only "got it that high. Which was why I was thinking about adding a mild turbo. And after the 0.030 of that came off the block that my pistons are STILL 0.180 in the hole I'm mainly worried about my rebuilder...

Thinking about turbo on my/6 again...

I admit that I don't know much about the fundamentals of a turbo setup.... Just that I want a little boost without getting too much

Thinking about turbo on my/6 again...

I haven't driven it since the new motor went in And I thought the waste gate "throttled" the boost to spread it out as rpm went up .. I'm thinking I'll hit 3k rpm sorta regular, but doubt I'll hit 4k very often given the application. What turbo would be better that will spread out it's...

Thinking about turbo on my/6 again...

Didn't think intercooling made that big of a deal at low boost level like I'm (thinking) wanting.

    General Lee today

Absolutely hideous I've seen many plain "not much effort" pinewood Derby cars, and even those look better than that POS (not at all trying to take anything away from those that put their heart and soul into those cars, like many do...) Not painted like the one above but I have seen a few of...

Are Blue Felpro Head Gaskets the Same for 273/318/340?

Thinking about turbo on my/6 again...

But being all those motors are higher CID than the 225 of a /6, wouldn't they be too big for this one? Maybe not. That's why I'm asking people that hopefully know

Thinking about turbo on my/6 again...

My current thoughts are to try to utilize the NOS BBD I have for this engine already, I figured it's a lil rich for it as built n/a, because it's nos for a 70s 318 truck with "heavy duty emissions" (which back then means it hardly even had any emissions crap.... A carb meant for a 318 on a...

Thinking about turbo on my/6 again...

Didn't know there was a 7.3 Cummins engine to begin with. This is a 225 /6 which (aside from a test lab deal that never made production) has always been a gas engine. I do have a brand new wide band o2 setup here collecting dust....

Slant Six Oil light coming on — need a new pump?

Pull the pan and clean it out and be done with it. While there pull a main or 2 and a couple of rod caps to see.... Then and only then will you know. Any kind of cleaner "soup" could dissolve what's in there just enough to move it to an even more inconvenient spot within the engine and take out...

    Healthy Head?

Depends on what type of gasket it is. And how old/brittle it has become, how long it's been since you last had it off, etc. I have (for me anyway) what will probably be a lifetime supply of fel pro ones I got in a package deal from eBay a year or so ago. I needed some TQ carb base gaskets and...

    Non-A-body 46re q’s

In my case 255 k, bought with trans and t case in the bed, rebuilt by me at the time, 85k ago, when it's on the right mood it still works awesome, as was said bands and clutches don't fix themselves. I don't drive it much anymore anyway, will probably be going away soon because it's so rotted...

Site sucks for mobile users because of ads

I agree with the op. And I've tried ad blockers, a few different ones. They work for a while but when they no longer work it backfires to where the ads are even a bigger **** show. They're ok when they work. But no telling when they expire. Then you get all the ads the blocker blocked "while it...

I have a couple of vehicles with the 46"rE". The one on my 96 Dakota isn't slipping a bit but is shifting funny sometimes but not always. . sometimes even when I feather the gas as light as I can, it refuses to shift until 3200 rpm. Sometimes it hits hard when it does shift sometimes not...

    Slant 6 exhaust leak.

The flange is the same as either side of the big block. The gaskets I have, have a 2-1/4 hole, same as the B B flanges. I gasket matched the manifold outlet to the gasket I have. The manifold flange hole as cast in mine was 1-7/8 diameter to start out with. And well off center. In order for...
