Changing crankshaft bearings with the engine in the car.

Those look just like the cam bearings in the Hemi Charger Dad gave me (back in 1983) after he dropped a valve and drove it for five miles, embedding the valve head in the piston and knocking a hole in the head. Cam was fine. So were the crank and rods. Don't know if the condition of the cam...

    73 340 duster thermoquad spacer ?

Mine worked great on the street, almost like fuel injection. But I did play with it quite a bit to get it almost perfect. I was lucky to have one on the 71 Duster and I knew not to let it go with the car. Actually, I still have the 340 also.

    Harmonic balancer clarification

Clarifying my own post, just in case! Is there any way possible to mistake a 340 balancer for a 360 while it's on the engine? Done, and thanks.

    Harmonic balancer clarification

Okay, I know that the 340s had a mid year switch that went from forged to cast crank, and that each one had its own respective harmonic balancer, one of which was stamped on the back. Now, did the la360s all have the somewhat distinctive thick balancer with the sort of semi-circular groove...

    Honing Oil Options?

Just buy some honing oil, your parts store should have some. I don’t like using penetrating oils, fumes.

Getting started to work on my 1974 Dart Sport. I got questions

Wow. A console, hood scoop 74. Does it have the fold down rear seat? If it does all it’s missing is a stick and a sun roof we’d have sister cars. Very cool.

    Honing Oil Options?

How much material are you removing? In a pinch I’ve used solvent. That’s a bottom of the barrel choice but it’s a step up from dry honing. I’ve used ATF, Marvels Mystery Oil and even WD-40 if it was just a slight touch up. If you have to remove more than about .001 I’d let someone with a...

Are there any experienced beer drinkers here?

Why yes old boy you have hit the nail right on the head> What were we all thinking. Yes FREE BEER is an excellent kind of beer. I used to go to this little bar. 66 Dodge Dart GT Restoration

What I did, and would suggest, Take the front gasket, fill the channel that goes over the pinch weld with black RTV. A real good amount especially in the lower corners. Place gasket on the car, holding the top in place with blue masking tape. Let sit for a few hours, like 4. then put glass...
