    360 Plug help

Can you kill it by screwing the idle mixture screws all the way in? Does it respond at all to changes to the mixture screws? Barely snug. If not, it’s getting fuel from somewhere else. Float level? What is the fuel pressure? Is fuel dripping out of the boosters? Dripping out of the accelerator...

Are there any experienced beer drinkers here?

I enjoyed most of them for years but preferred European style beer. My Buddy said you only taste the first one and can get used to anything. He was right because when i started drinking cheap beer i hated it, but after a few weeks it was my favourite. I eventually just got tired of buying it...

    Milling an intake manifold.

You math is correct. If the manifold lines up with no gasket, you need to machine whatever the thickness of the gasket is off the intake. And I do not start counting the say .060 that you say your gasket is until I take a light cut or two until the surface just cleans up. Unless you need to...

I remove the chuck from the air hose as soon as I am done using it. I also shut off the air supply at the compressor when it's not needed. I have seen firsthand what a mess an airhose can cause when unleashed. Glad you don't have to take the 'Bird back to surgery again Wayne.

    Odd ignition and electrical problem

That sounds like the black ammeter wire. I would also be checking the ammeter for heat damage, loose connections, as well as the terminals in the bulkhead connector. That entire ammeter circuit can be a problem

    .480/230 cam in an 8.5 CR 360?

Actually in the beginning I said a stock 340 cam then just to kick them in the pants I said the 318 cam. I owned a couple of 1979 Chrysler 300's. They came with the 340 cams dual exhaust ect. They sounded great, had a little power but overall they were dogs. One of them I rebuilt and the final...

    Riddle Me This

Actually the wire from the ignition switch to the relay COULD be quite small. That is a relay, and the yellow "start" wire simply activates the coil. The wire from the relay to the solenoid is a different story.

My 67 Commando sounds better with duals. The factory exhaust sounded like a truck to me.

I remember when the quarter turn valves first came out for water. I have a high school buddy that owns and operates a small plumbing supply shop in Watseka Illinois. He turned me on to them when they first appeared. So much nicer that those multiple turn globe valves that always end of leaking...

    Too Hot

Thanks for the tips. I appreciate your youth and inexperience. When you grow up and learn to make power with higher than orthodox compression ratios then you can give me tuning tips. And for your edification I suggest you check around on here. A few have learned to reduce coolant temperatures...
