So, I took off the steering coupler housing and it seems to be an older style - missing the 2 pins. It's got a clamp instead of one pin and it does not have that little pin at all. Does anyone have a spare housing that they are willing to part with?

Set screw Is on the splined side and sets into the original notch on the steering box shaft. I was going to notch the other side to allow for the “plunge” like the original style coupler. A drilled hole would work too just no room for plunge.

No mistaking a P/S coupler from a Manual box one the manual one is much larger. Your two piece steering shaft may have collapsed a little. You did remove the roll pin from the coupler, right?

The couplers they supply are a nice improvement over the factory style. Super easy to install also, and they supply you with the drill bit, with the coupler. If you break the drill bit on the last hole, like we did. There’s your roll pin.

Thanks for saying that, btw. WD-40 and the correct drive pin punch, and you should not have any problem driving that roll pin out of the coupler. Heat will damage the seals on that steering box input shaft , for those who are not re-building the steering box.

The roll pin is the one I had so much trouble out of!! I havent even attempted the shoe pin yet! Dang I may be in trouble haha! I will get it one way or another!
