The black wire from my alternator came off the + side coil when I looked at my saved pics before replacing . I added a key on wire to the + side for the ecu only . Fires fine now When running, and I turn the key off, it does stop running . You made perfect sense in your helpful statement...

My problem was the new distributor bought from eBay. The reluctor and pick up could not be set. Too much slop I appreciate you guys Keep er safe

If the alternator thick black wire is shared by the the other side of the ballast resistor, maybe the eyelet went to the negative side of the coil ?

Thanks, this helps a lot , I have it wired right because the blue from the box wants key on and the big wire from the alternator share the same side ballast resistor no matter where the splice or connection is. Right ?

The The weird thing is it had an eyelet on it that I believe ran to the positive side coil maybe it is shared by those connections ?

Where does the thick wire coming out of this alternator SUPPOSED to go to in our 1964 273 ? We are replacing the point style with electronic ignition package. I could swear I took the other end off of the positive side coil, All the wiring diagrams show it to go to the voltage regulator by way...

I need a complete automatic kick down linkage that will work on a 74 Duster with a 904. We are running a 72 318 with a Edelbrock 1406 4 bl. We also need the passenger side outside lock to internal lock mechanism link. If you happen to have the throttle cable we will buy that also. We need it...

Intake has not been off since we had it , who knows about the past. We bought the 318 from a guy going to a 340 for his 72 Challenger. He has a reputable shop that does his work. He did say the mechanic there had rebuilt the stock carb. He sold me a new distributor with it for cheap, saying...

It was 60 degrees here in Texas. It’s been running in that weather for a time or two. So weather or not, I am just glad. Maybe she passed a ‘stone’ in the carb. Hell, I don’t know.

... so the only thing I changed today was the thermostat in my sons 74 Duster. Went from 180 to 195 for the winter. We were having hesitation problems all along in this 318 auto 2 bbl from a 72 Challenger donor car. No more STUMBLING. No more HESITATION. OEM is 195, guess that’s what they need.

This all needs to fit a two barrel carb. Engine is a 318 out of a 72 Challenger that we installed in a 74 Duster. Trans is 904.

24 and a quarter inch I believe. I do not have the old one.
