No, it won’t. Think it through. Area under the curve is meaningless in ANY form of racing. What matters is area under the curve between minimum and maximum rpm. What happens at 2 or even 3k means nothing in a race. On my drag stuff any thing under 5500 didn’t mean a thing. It never saw rpm...

I like the idea of mounting it under the hood, I was actually thinking about mounting gauges under the hood. It would be nice to have a voltmeter, water temp gauge and oil pressure gauge in there.

Yup. 100% true. If anyone is familiar with a Milodon or similar gear drive there is no keyway to time the cam. I bought an ignition for a dirt bike I had. The rotor didn’t have a key slot in it. The factories use stuff like that so they can slam that **** together.

I've used the keys a ton, too and never had one fail or seen one fail. Ever. I agree too that they are not meant to carry load. I'd be surprised if the load on them was even measureable.

True, but that A-body w/a cammed magnum like that should be knocking down low 12's w/o breaking a sweat, unless you're spinning your wheels or the tune sucks...

can you give it a light once over with some steel wool to dull it up a bit. give it that brushed s/s look. it will reduce the glare and if your not happy with the outcome, then you have a solid excuse to remove it

They work fine. It’s all we had before these 9 keyway sets that confuse most people. I’ve used them with roller cams and shifted that engine at 8k for two years. It never failed.

I had just the oil light on Vixen for the longest time. I got curious just what kind of oil pressure she had, so I plumbed in a manual gauge and mounted it under the hood. She idles on the relief valve cold at about 75PSI. Hot she idles about 50 and as soon as the throttle is blipped, you can...

Kitty and I and all the kitties made it fine. The storm was on track for us to be on the dirty side, but it tracked to the east of us instead, thanks be to God. We never even lost power. We did lose internet, but we watched Clint Eastwood DVDs all night. lol
