    Looking at Tubular K member

How's the turning radius with the rack and pinion? That's the only downside I've heard but it should be an easy fix? I'd run a tubular K only if anyone offered it. Cleaner looking, pan clearance and has to be lighter and better welds.

    Some suspension and brake questions

DoctorDiff Drivetrain Components Is your friend for brake conversion parts. And short Anwser, t-bars and rack and pinion don’t work together. There’s been a few K frames posted for sale this past week or so. Many a car race with the stock style front suspension.

...and it did not suffer from a lack of bottom end torque with that 4.09" stroke! What I liked about the car was i) its excellent power rack and pinion steering; ii) its beam axle rear suspension (which had a panhard rod for lateral axle location); iii) its decent damping and ride... no doubt...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

You gotta be kidding me...you could feel those firewall to fender braces in the 74 and up cars in the steering wheel? does NASA know about you? BTW....Do you know why those (hint: mandated) braces were in there?

    Front end swap inbound

...QA1 parts, but their front end kit is almost 4k (without brakes). Did some research and found out about the first gen Dakotas. IFS, rack and pinion steering, and disc brakes that clear 15s! And like most dodges, it shares most of its parts with other Mopars, like the brake rotors I need to...

Installed the new rack and pinion.. simple bolt in. Got the passenger side spindle on. Still have to install the drivers side spindle brake caliper, and hook up the steering column which is going to need to be short ened a bit.

Mystery brake leak at new MC

Yes, it’s tight, the Aus driveline retained the same offset as the US cars so there’s not much room with a steering box in the way as well. Mines running a rack and pinion but still tight regardless, the guy who fabbed my pipes and system did a great job!

Need advice on suspension and brake upgrades

My suspension is custom, the front started with a Heidts universal coil spring/a-arm system with rack and pinion steering from Speedway, installed a set of 5/8" shorter control arms, fabricated a set of mounts and tossed the coil springs for QA1 adjustable coil over shocks. The rear is a...

    6.4 hemi dart swap

...a 69 custom I am about to start the same swap. Have been researching the steering side of the swap. I see you kept the factory box location. How tight is that? Have been toying with the idea of rack and pinion steering to give me more room for exhaust along with modifying current slanty k frame.

Steering All Over the Place at 55mph+

I agree. Had a issue with my 72' Dodge Van with a 70' 340 installed. I installed TA 50's on the front and larger TA 50's on the rear. After a while the steering felt loose. I crawled under the van and had someone move the steering wheel left and right and noticed that there was no play on any...

    Blank tie rod adjusting sleeves

So your rack and pinion has an M14-2.0 threaded shaft and you need a female outer tie rod end to go from that to the stock steering arm on the lower ball joint? Like this? Just a thought, but the steering arm doesn’t care about the UNF thread. It just needs a 7° taper and somewhat close start...

    tti header fitment

I will take a look, I ran into this issue after installing Gerst front suspension. The pan was trying to rest on the rack and pinion. I had to do 2 things, get offset washers for the rack and pinion mounts and after loosening the the 6 engine mount bolts, lift engine and retighten bolts...

    Rack and pinion

...I don’t know about on the right hand drive, but the steering linkage angles to hook that up on a left hand steer are pretty steep. Rack and pinion offers ZERO performance improvement over a worm and ball. None. All you eliminate is the small, on center dead spot. But that should be small...

    Camber adjustment/rack and pinion

2 things- I agree “toe” has nothing to do with camber because you have a rack and pinion steering. Camber and caster are the first adjustments on a proper alignment. so if you have damage- you need to fix that first or you will never get the car dialed in. After that is set …. Then you set toe.
