Good Open Wheel show at the beach tonite, beach being Ventura Raceway. Ventura is literally at the beach. Speedway, parking lot, road to the neighboring State Beach, sand, waves, surfers, and Channel Islands  In that order
I’m excitedly curious to find my smoking issue when I tear these heads off this winter. They were used damaged Edelbrock I bought for 350.00, repaired them, and ported them. They have been on 4-5 engines since 2008 and although it ran 6.00 last time out has been smoking all year. This engine if...
I might be overthinking it, that's a possibility. I just wanted to get the correct one without a lot of running back and forth. I live basically in the middle of nowhere and it's easily an hour to the closest retail parts store.
I see no harm either way. My friend that did my head’s didn’t even use seals on my bronze guide 906 heads. He used a small oring but we serviced our stuff more often then most.
This helps a lot! It's the same pump as far as I can tell, and I didn't think that the hose would go up like that before going down. I guess it has something to do with making sure there's enough flex in the rubber line when the engine revs?
At any rate, I appreciate the photos!
They’re 4150’s so they’re mounted sideways. There is no fuel coming out of the vents as I’ve run it without air cleaners during some of the runs and no sign of that. Fuel pressure is 5.5 so that’s probably not an issue. I’ll level the car out and see where the floats sit.
Looks like we have a short lived heat wave in our future. Be knocking on the 90° door mid-week. South and east of here it gonna be smokin' hot  . AYEE! It will be hotter just to the north of here than it will be in the old Desert homeland!
Sidewalks and deck are cleared manually with a shovel. Garage apron is cleared via either one of two Toro 2-stage snowblowers, depending on depth and weight (water content) of the snow. We either use the light "flapper":
Or the more "serious" Commercial (no shear pins) unit (typical pics...
The only 270 badge that remains, is on the outside of the passenger hood scoop. I did see a Canadian restoration, and some sales literature when the car was being sold. There are a few emblems missing.
I can’t remember if your carbs are inline or sideways.
If they are inline you may have enough fuel in the bowls that Turing one way will lift the float and shut off the fuel. But it would have to be an aggressive long turn for that.
The other thing I’ve seen is too much fuel in the bowl and...
