Sitting on deck having a crown and ginger and this memory hit me. My lot sits on a hard pan ridge, lots of wheel barrel sized stones. Many moons ago I went on a rock digging rampage. Have a VW bush buggy. I was using it to roll the rocks out of the hole onto a stone boat. One rock was a little...

    Idle Transfer Slot on secondaries?

In most cases the transfer slot on the secondary's are usually shorter and higher. To get the so called small square window on the secondary's would require you to open them too far allowing too much are in and raising the idle speed.

    Cam Phasing

I put this in a 360 circle track motor, previous owner had it in one also. Had a victor 340 intake on it and a hole in the block, think I gave $150 for it, which the intake was worth that. Ended up being a good deal. It did take afew chunks out of the oil pump drive gear but it cleaned up enough...

Screwed the Pooch at Summit Team Finals Today in Texas

If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. TNT Thursday worst light was a .01 (footbraking) Friday gambler's race worst light was a .009 Almost all lights the whole weekend were .00 something 1sr round today... .002 red and I'm in the trailer. Oh and he had a.06 light! Isn't that...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

I have Wilwood on all of mine. I really like both the performance aspect and also the modularity and endless ability to modify change or enhance.

Does this prove David Vizard's 128 lsa formula ?

See, there you you go again, blinded by your own rage. Humble people do not profess their humility. I'm sorry that your heart cannot accept any truth but your own date-stamped pictures. My job is not to prove my innocence. Your job is to prove me a liar. Your opinion is not a truth...

That key was a victim of a catastrophic failure. Heck even the cam gave . Lol When you say you “ran it “ another few years… what was “it” ?

    Steering column drop

Yes. Directly under the cluster you will see three bolts with a star pattern washer. See diagram. Remove these and column will drop. Also, removing the steering wheel helps a lot. Before doing anything, reach up and disconnect the speedometer cable. Remove the phillips screws holding...

    Steering column drop

Yes.. There is a procedure in the FSM. I followed the procedure last time but would take it a step farther next time. Some things that help. Remove the front seats Next time I'm going to remove the column from the car ( roll pin on the coupler, a hand full of nuts and bolts, and a couple...

    Tune up questions

Not a timing issue I do not believe. Ignition failure issue or Vacuum Diaphragm linkage/ way wrong spring in it. Perhaps a broken inner spring or two if you have dual springs.

Got a huge show tomorrow about 100 miles from here, might go to see it but I don't intend to enter the Ventura and hang around all day, especially when I have to work Monday. They usually get a fantastic turnout, 800+ vehicles from what I have seen before, weather forecast looks good too, so...

Hi thanks for letting me join your group. A retired automotive engineer of 22 years, Ford and Toyota

He`s talking reverse lights, can`t be accessed from the trunk. The back roll pan goes so far it`s easier to unscrew the assy. their is a short pigtail that is easy to unplug and then screw out the bulb socket. R+R.

    360 Questions.. pardon my ignorance.

Carb on the motor is junk.. peeked down the barrels and inside the intake was wet with fuel. Pulled the top off it, tweaked the float level and put it back in.. it fired up and ran for less than a minute, inside the barrels are slick with fuel and I got a big puff of smoke out of the carb when...

    Camshaft for 273

A 273 with any cam at the 340 Resto level or lower will be very responsive from just off idle to 5600 RPM. With the 4 speed stick, you will never be traveling at 850 RPM anytime in normal driving or you will pound the rod bearings out lugging it. Maybe 850 RPM with an Auto and 1800 RPM Stall...

    stamped steel LA rocker arms

It seems to me that you'd wanna tailor the rocker arms used to the cam you have, but also take into account the heads you're using. I'll be using ported 'O' heads on my 340 and, as far as I can tell, they're the 340/360 stock pieces. That said, if the 273 pieces work better for your...
