it's hard to say on modified cars. If you have your rear end blocked up and the car in drive and the cable is smoothly turning it would seem your trans gear and cable are good? Then onto the speedometer or fitment of parts.

reason is sst rod will weld to cast and steel, rods like 6011 will not weld to cast. just food for thought

The ups trucks use to run 4bt’s with turbo 400 trannys, that would get out to a Chevy tranny as a option, I put a 4 bt in a dodge 1/2 ton, turbo 400 with a gearvender behind it.

There are a few companies that will build you a 4L60 or 4L80 for you with a custom bell to match your engine. They handle LS engines no troubles. Try look that up. Hope this helps.

For something that light, "why?" Just use a 4 speed and a street gear like 3.54/3.55 just like we did back then. Something with that oomph cal pull a higher gear
