How's the turning radius with the rack and pinion? That's the only downside I've heard but it should be an easy fix? I'd run a tubular K only if anyone offered it. Cleaner looking, pan clearance and has to be lighter and better welds.

Installed the new rack and pinion.. simple bolt in. Got the passenger side spindle on. Still have to install the drivers side spindle brake caliper, and hook up the steering column which is going to need to be short ened a bit.

Don't forget to notch the basepan for the RMS Rack and pinion while the engine is out LOL !!

Yes, it’s tight, the Aus driveline retained the same offset as the US cars so there’s not much room with a steering box in the way as well. Mines running a rack and pinion but still tight regardless, the guy who fabbed my pipes and system did a great job!

I will take a look, I ran into this issue after installing Gerst front suspension. The pan was trying to rest on the rack and pinion. I had to do 2 things, get offset washers for the rack and pinion mounts and after loosening the the 6 engine mount bolts, lift engine and retighten bolts...

So your rack and pinion has an M14-2.0 threaded shaft and you need a female outer tie rod end to go from that to the stock steering arm on the lower ball joint? Like this? Just a thought, but the steering arm doesn’t care about the UNF thread. It just needs a 7° taper and somewhat close start...

‘91 & up dodge truck, Dakota, maybe Durango, but not sure about the rack and pinion. They had a Borgeson type joint that drilled through the solid double D shaft. I’ve got a 2000 Durango parts pile. I’ll check it out today to see if I can assist.

I was looking at current QA1suspension on their website and I was just wondering if this is new parts or pieced together odds and ends. Is it front mounted rack & pinion or factory style steering? I have seen a picture of what looked like a modified factory lower control arm with a QA1 sticker...

totally different types of cars. Two different buyers. The black one is completely modified “pro-touring” a/c, complete coil-over suspension, rack and pinion, custom interior, mini tubbed, Dana, 4-wheel disks… etc etc The GSS is restored to factory original.
