Like one of your sources, I have a very large sample size in my memory of these cars. My first A body was in 66 when I turned 16, but it was a 273 2bbl 4speed 64 Barracuda. (I wanted a new S 67 Barracuda but had to settle for the repo 64)
When the 65s came out in late 64, I had a couple friends...
I had typed out that he had 2 of 0, but I think he already knows he has been caught in a lie.
Heck the mechanics I was learning from back in the mid 60s, weren't sold on disc brakes and were just getting used to alternators. :D
Those 273 4barrel Hi Po, a body motors were the coolest thing around back then. The resonator tip was shiny stainless, not black, and you could hear someone with their foot in it blocks away.
Ok, I haven't been around much, since I no longer own an A body, but I still love checking this place out once in a while. Hope you all are doing well!
I found something really interesting today. A guy that works for a Dodge dealership, over on Challengertalk.com is claiming to have had a...
I have had three friends buy big expensive motors from them, and another one buy all the parts and assemble two of them himself.
Not one cared for the experience, in fact one of them ended up taking the Dyno'd Hemi apart and fixing it with another machine shop. They found a lot of screw ups...
Actually Karl, I put it on from recommendations from posters on this site. Never too old to learn!
I didn't believe in them before, and thought they were just a band-aid for 3.9s
The odd part about that motor to me, is that it came with a windage tray, stock. It was out of a low mile...
Thanks everyone, it is a great one so far. A long drive to Minneapolis got canceled this morning, so that was a nice start.
Karl, I don't have anything left, you got it all. :D
Getting new Goodrichs put on the Ram today, life is good!
thanks again!
Been through Volo a couple of times, and maybe two cars there were worthy of any serious respect. A 58 Buick convertible and 61 Bubble top Impala.
I went up there to see the DeSoto Adventurer once, and it was pretty depressing.
If I remember correctly, there were some defective ones being sold a couple years ago.
I returned one of them I bought off of ebay due to improper fit, but there was also an issue with the wrong material being used to make them.
Is that what happened here?
I think you are out of line here, and don't want to be myself.
He didn't say that Indy ported the intake and I think that is what you are talking about.
The porting job on the heads looks fine and professional.
I am curious. What raw materials are coming from China?
It is my understanding they are by far the biggest consumer world wide of raw materials, but I wasn't aware of them having any raw materials to export.
Very sorry to hear of your loss, very sorry.
Last Thursday, I received a call from my best buddies cell phone from back home. I answered it like a smart ***: "What!?!?" because my phone said it was him.
It turned out to be his sister telling me she had just found him dead. He was only 63...
Lots of excellent points being made in this thread. 12 years ago, over 90% of our business was based on a local cell phone manufacturer, then they announced their move to China.
Even though their CEO said at the time, it was due to the lazy American workers, the real reason was they wanted to...
It is sad, very sad. But we do have a chance to do something about it on some scale.
If we all quit buying Nike etc. and buy the known USA made products, it would force the others to come back.
I would like to think so anyway, because our kids/grandkids are going to need some jobs to pay...
Your 99 Dakota was a good looking vehicle, as was my 90, but the Germans killed the Dakota when they made it look like a "rockm-sockm" robot. Could they have intentionally made it any uglier?
No insult intended to any of those owners, but I didn't like it, and the numbers would back me up.
I thought this article was very interesting, the irony of the chop sticks is pretty cool.
I will only be buying New Balance sneakers from now on!
It is much easier reading if you click the link, than reading my cut and paste.

It has always been my perception from the context of the term being used, that it was a fault in the casting process. In other words, the core was not dead on center, when the block was cast.
