    225 turbo headers

silly question guys, I've been considering manufacturing a run of fabricated turbo manifolds to suit the humble slant, Have been working on a design that not only looks relatively factory, but will have no flow drawbacks or crack issues. Out of curiosity, how many here would be interested in a...

    360 head trip

love your work, have you found an advantage in leaving a square edge on the back of the intake guide? or is this a 'step one' flow figure

Optimum air speed and other dumb questions

The Class the car is being built around is replicating racing in Australia between 1965 and 1972, cars that have proof the make and model raced in the period are ellidgeable, most items that are free (carbs etc) had to have been available in this era. The vehicle in question is a 1967 a body 4...

Optimum air speed and other dumb questions

Cam, induction and exhaust are free as long as induction type was available before 1972 here, Head performance can be improved by removal of metal, If I've missed anything, it should be in my other thread below; http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=205294

Optimum air speed and other dumb questions

Car is around 1300kg (2866 lb) and going down historic road rally car working within a rather restrictive class, 273ci plus whatever bore is required , around 880cfm carburession (slightly more metered than the average holley) 10.5 comp. limited to a torqueflite (but that's not all bad) aiming...

    Deleting egr port

yes, that's the one it's on a set of 2658920 273/318 heads (66-67) which suprises me a bit, i wasn't expecting to see one in a 60's head were there earlier heads that did not incorporate it I should be keeping an eye out for? cheers,

    Deleting egr port

What have you guys used on a standard cast head to blank the egr port? I'm just thinking a 2 part metal or hard silicone based compound but thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone had a tried and true trick. Thanks in advance.

Optimum air speed and other dumb questions

Has anyone here done much research into optimum air speed for carburetor engines? I'm looking into a happy compromise between open ports and air speed on a smallblock I'm planning a rev range between 4000 and 7000 rpm. For reference, each cylinder running around 35 cubes swept volume would...

Great feedback guys! And waggin, I will defiantly get back to you soon. Am picking up another 273 and driveline on the weekend to get a slow start on the project, until them I have a 273 car we can run in a lesser event to set sort geometry while we set up the actual body (would hate to ruin an...

    Getting a smallblock to rev

yes, have read and saved the oiling mod thread, a great read. by free, you are allowed to manufacture manifolds, and can run anything that was available in the period, it's not uncommon to see vehicles running tripple and quad weber intake setups like the one below, (belongs to the barracuda...

    Getting a smallblock to rev

Some good replies here chaps, thanks for the effort. To try and clarify the rules a bit; I have to use factory cast heads (but in my interpretation, j or x heads are still factory with a trim around the top of the bore??) larger valves can be incorporated. Their wording, 'performance can...

    Getting a smallblock to rev

Have been looking into a historic circuit race class down here in aus, considering running a 1967 Valiant, the class is limited to standard components with the exception of consumables (pistons, rings bearings etc..) cams, intake and exhaust are free as long as it was available before 1972...
