Have had roller rockers installed in the 383 engine. After a couple of minutes when the lifter preload been set I can rotate the pushrod with the finger tips at the bdc. Before I set the preload I had the sparkplugs removed and had the engine turned over by the starter to have the lifters...

My engine is a 383/915 heads, 10:1 comp. Eddy RPM intake. 4-speed car. Almost all of the mechanical advance ( 31 degrees) comes in at 1400 rpm. In generally, is this normal or way too early? Or does this vary depending on each build? How will a engine react if the mech advance comes in too...

Stupid question, but I´ll ask it anyway. :angry7: Drained the motor on the oil ...and... Is there any other way than by smelling to determine if I got gas in the oil? It does smell supicious but I´m not sure. I don´t want to ruin the Royal Purple oil I´m about to change to. Did a experiment...
