I ran a ported set on my car for years with a edelbrock performer & a weiand action plus manifold. Block the coolant passages as per post #4 and your good. I also ran coolant through the manifold for a while at the start but it eventually leaked and dropped some coolant in the oil. No leaks...

Why would you want to run a stock magnum intake on a set of cnc machined and ported cylinder heads? Just use an aftemarket intake manifold from Edelbrock, etc....

You can, but you can’t use a Magnum intake. There set up & drilled for LA intake manifolds.

I think it is a shame they never hopped the 5.7 up. It's functionally a truck motor, if not less than as the truck gets an SRV intake and the cars don't. Would have been cool if they had built a "Magnum" 5.7 using the intake, cam and exhaust off the 6.4 and sold that the last year. I'm sure...

Along those lines, with 230 horse with a stock cam, 2 barrel, and manifolds, building a 300 horse engine shouldn't be a big deal. You can build a 400 horse engine fairly easily as well. If you want. Or you can find a 360 or a Magnum and get there easier and probably cheaper.

My experience as well. Replace the kegger with a carb intake and normal distributor and the Magnums rocket to life.

I've looked at these a few times due to the price but have also heard these manifolds fit and perform poorly. Are you happy with how it fits and runs on your engine? I have ran a weiand action plus and the std edelbrock performer on mild motors and like the weiand better.

I'm running a BPE 408 so the RPM Airgap is a bit special with the use of the magnum style attaching bolts. Can't just swap manifolds, unfortunately.

I would contact the manufacturer and show them what's up. With that design you aren't the only one with the issue. Possibly they caught the issue and made a production change to correct it. You could have bought a early manifold.
