    440 source rocker arms

I have 440 Source rockers on my daughters bracket Cuda. One of the adjusters recently broke off with the locknut, and luckily came to rest beside the valve out of the way of the spring. I now carry a spares but plan to upgrade to Harlan's when the Indys get ported. They are rather noisy.

    used hemi headers

The TTI headers I have would not clear the idler arm nor the torsion bar on the passenger side due to the raised port design of my Indy legend heads. These headers got used for dyno time only as I had to have a custom set made to fit the car.I am not familiar with your KB heads, but you may just...

    oil retention device

Since NHRA is requiring all cars (9.99 and quicker) in the e.t. finals to have an oil retention device, what is the setup to use? My car has a Milodon 31460 pan with a single line feeding the pump, and a boxed k member.

    solid roller lash

I made 6 more passes to get licensed on Saturday so I for sure need to now.I attempted to pull the valve cover last week. Since the 426 Legend heads are studed for the cover, it requires the engine to be raised in order to clear the shock tower that was modified to prevent this issue. Raised...

NHRA wheel stud rule ? A litle confusing

The lugnuts on my Dart are flush with the the end of the 3" studs. As long as there is 1/2" of threads on the head of the lugnut (clamping part) holding your wheel on you should be fine. I had my wilwood rotor hats machined .100" on the face that the wheel rests because of this issue. I have not...

68 dart small block vs hemi

If you decide to go with the Hemi, stay with stock port location heads. If raised port heads are used, throw the torsion bars away and go RMS or similar front suspension.

    Hemi headers

Does anyone make headers for Indy 426-1 Legend heads for an A body with stock suspension and manual steering? TTI advised me their headers would work with a little effort, but fixing 1 clearance issue creates another somewhere else. I believe at some point a hammer will be in order. Any help?

IR ThunderGun Impact Wrenches any opinions?

Last week I used my buddies IR 1/2" drive impact (not sure of the #) working on a tractor. It was very impressive and better than any I've used. I would not use it on 3/8" and smaller bolts unless you are careful and yes it was turned all the way down.

How do you trace your cars history

Some years ago, there was someone in Hemmings motor news that could trace your cars history for a modest fee. My dads 1955 Chrysler 300 we knew came from Florida, but did not know the car was delivered to a dealer in Daytona Beach. The researcher discovered the car was present at Speedweeks in...

    Self Employed???

I worked 16 years full time in a factory, painting in a production line. At the same time , I was farming a small acreage. As land became available and I got better equipment I quit the factory. No regrets . Why work hard to get someone else ahead, work hard and put yourself ahead.

    AMD Bumpers

I bought both front and rear bumpers for my '68. The front one was a work of art, the rear was surprisingly wavy. The rear mounting bracket holes had to be ground a little bit for a level fit. I am just glad AMD is making us parts!

    Indy crossram throttle linkage

I'm fabricating a linkage for twin holleys on a Indy crossram intake. I got everything in place, but the linkage on the front carb interfers with the arm on the carb past 3/4 throttle. I'm trying to maintain parallel geometry with the linkages to ensure equal travel. Also, the arms on the carb...

    kill stories

Back in 1983, I was a sophmore in H.S. and I was getting crap about the 1970 383 4spd. Superbee my sister drove to school. The body was rusted and banged up, but my Dad bought it from the local junkyard for $500. The 383 was real strong for being stock, and 3.55 gears helped too. Anyway, the...

    Rotisserie Pictures

I built my rotesserie with drop material from my work. I spent many breaks measuring ,cutting and weighing all the steel (15 cents a lb.) I had to buy 2 tall hydraulic jacks and 6 good size casters which cost about $300. Welding, fitting and drilling I'm guessing took 6 hours. I think next time...

    1 battery or 2

I'm working on wiring up my Dart for bracket racing. I'm not using an alternator. In talking with a racer friend, he thought 1 battery would not keep up to the demand I'm putting on it, and suggested I add another battery. The car has electric water and fuel pump, fan, MSD, transbrake, etc. etc...
