Canadian after taxes. Shop rate is $175 these days and they claimed 2 hours. I knew the shop rate going in but was hoping for better results to be honest. These guys have a pretty good reputation around town.

Seeking advice on how to extract broken lug bolts

The hardest part about all of this was finding the conical washer, which my forklift guy called a "thimble." I found something online at AutoZone and they were calling it a cylinder head washer. Went to my preferred parts store, which is NOT AutoZone, and they had what I needed. Heated each bore...

    Just needing some help

It's after it has warmed up that it acts up. While it is cold it will scream the tires. It sat for about 3 months. I drained the fuel tank and put fresh gas in before I started it the first time. Also new fuel filter.

that's the route I'm aiming at. I'm going to get the tools and see where I can get it to without changing the uppers. Then get the uppers if needed.

Restomod or Original OEM style?? - Feedback Appreciated!

There is more to ride quality than sidewall. A cheap set of shocks with bigger TB's can make a car ride like an empty dump truck, for example. I like the ride of my '74 with 245/45R17's, .99 TB's and RCD's. Certainly no worse than the '15 Challenger R/T STP I used to own. Even drove them...

    MLS Gaskets

I would have zero issues running them, and not doing anything to them other than just retorquing them again. This all assumes there is nothing wrong with the gaskets. I have reused them on a 13 to 1 motor before with no issues. Cometic gaskets

    Tire size vs wheel width

From what I understand is optimal width is mainly do to heat, more heat you create the wider the tire you need to dissipate it, similar to rotor sizes. So if your not asking much out of your tires you probably don't much width and tire compound will probably make a bigger difference for most.

I understand that Heart’s “Barracuda” isn’t about a Plymouth… so is this the only ode to a muscle car?

This car did pretty well with a stock based suspension. As I recall @AndyF said one time he was running with or chasing down Z06's on the road courses. https://www.hotrod.com/articles/mopp-1204-1968-plymouth-valiant-track-day-prep/

Our 14:1 power boxes are the only way to have a modern feel. IMHO its the slowest ratio thats acceptable. We run 7 degrees caster and neg .5 camber so tracking is excellent as well as an improved camber curve. To each his own!

Restomod or Original OEM style?? - Feedback Appreciated!

Get used to the wind noise, replaced all of mine to no effect. Smaller steering wheel, harder to steer, unless you have power steering. Putting 17" or larger wheels will change the comfort level, no sidewall. My '69 with tubular front, triangulated 4-link rear and 15" wheels rides the best.

    Tire size vs wheel width

Yep, this is just to add some clarity on which end of that range is best. Agree. Makes sense when you consider the subjective responses too.

    Cam grinders

Or maybe help a FABO member or the like. I waited 4 months for the cam we wanted and never did get it. Finally had to go for a regrind.

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

I don't plan on using the original radiator, but I did clean it up and flushed it best I could and obviously painted it. There's an aluminum radiator that looks attractive;) As for the air cleaner inlet/fresh air? I could run a large flexible stock looking hose to the radiator support, it's...

Exchanging texts with Inline Tube now. It'll be interesting. Provided the "Complete vehicle information" as requested, but that makes peoples heads explode. Regardless, if it was a 106 inch wheelbase U.S. model, the cable would be too long, not too short. We shall see.

    Cam grinders

I believe at one time I read that cam grinders might like good cores to regrind, I have a few cams and was going to throw away, if they could go to a good use I would like to help them out. Thanks!
  28. DionR

    Tire size vs wheel width

I would guess the issue with the widest tire on the rim not being the fastest is because the tire is pinched and probably loses some tread contact with the asphalt. Plus, the tread is probably able to squirm more sideways on the wheel compared to a narrower tire that better fits the rim. Just...
