    318 Build? Help!

Sorry, but there is no way in hell a 9.7:1 318 with 170cc heads and a 216/220 cam will make anywhere near that power and torque. What program is that?

Project Cheap & Nasty Updated With Back Story

Not a thing. It's about three years old. It still runs great. I want to get my feet wet with a turbo motor, because I want to build something more substantial. I figure a cheap and nasty stone stock build with good used parts and little cash outlay would be the way to go.

Looking for correct bulbs for 1965 Plymouth Valiant 200 for Instrument Cluster

^^Not only this above, but some LEDs won't dim properly in a cluster because they do not draw enough current. The dimmer is a simple variable resistor, known as a rheostat. The operation of it requires a certain "in range" load on it. EG if you were to go through the car and remove...

    318 Build? Help!

I am doing something similar with my 318; it is a stockish combo with -5cc kb pistons, cast crank and stock rods, and the only machine work being done is a light ball hone and zero decking it. I have speedmaster 170cc heads; and a torker for the top end. Going through different camshaft options...

Dust off your crystal ball and GUESS the horsepower !

When all of us older folks were 16 just about every car could do a smoky burnout and not many cheaper cars can do that nowadays. That 318 will feel like a rocket ship

This is going on your valiant? What's up with the motor in there now? I thought that one was a pretty fresh build?

Dust off your crystal ball and GUESS the horsepower !

Agreed. For a 16 year old I knew who had a 66 Dart, with a 318, "It's got BEEF!" It's plenty to start out driving.

Thank you for letting me join. I am building a 68 Formula S Cuda, started on a rotisserie and now getting close to finish

Using the shafts that were sent with the new gear. There is some blue on the end indicating that the shaft has been hardened

Yes, the shafts spin freely. I even checked the shaft in the bushing before installation and after.
